  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

First test of the battery backup. Lots of wind, rain, first power outage here in a few years. Seems to be working fine. We’re good for about 24 hours.

If you want graham cracker concrete you have to include baby drool. N.B.—ask me how I know. Oh, I think there has to be peanut butter in there. Graham cracker is the cement, peanut butter is the aggregate, and the water.

    Trim names…

Nice ideas but Thresher might be an ill omen choice, given the lost submarine of that name.

You just gave yourself a new, permanent nickname.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Good point. And I’m assuming that when I say right to repair. Data access is key to everything when maintaining modern autos. I just think it could be a key marketing tool for SM.

I like! If SM follows through on their r-2-r, coupled with NO subscriptions, I think they will have a compelling case for other buyers. It should be a cornerstone of their marketing campaign. Just my opinionl

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

I’ve been thinking seriously about the Continental Terrain Contact in 275/70 R18. I’ve seen good reviews and that size comes in at just over 33”. Since The Bumble Bee will be mostly a pavement princess, this might be the answer for me.

I firmly believe this will be the case.

    Turning off ALL notification beeps.

In 1984 a national news caster was talking about the arrival of that year. He said we didn’t have Big Brother, but Mother Hen. I think it was Roger Mudd.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Since updating the BMS on my house back up batteries in December, I’ve had periodic power interruption events. The error code always indicates an electrical fault like a power surge or some such. It shuts off and restarts (~2 seconds) to protect the system. This morning I had two events back to...

The Terra looks good in the Satin White. A light grey or ghost Rallye stripe would really set it off.
