  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Slate is going to be the car that terminally online people always say "we need more of" and "people want this" but never put their money where their mouth is.

Sorry I should have added some more context about the "bummed" aspect since it's entirely personal. We usually do the trip with one stop but this summer we managed to do the return route without stopping. My bumming comes from knowing that I wouldn't be able to do that again. Additionally (and...

Yeah I think the arrival % is going to be much more context driven than with a gas car. On a road trip I'd want to get home with as close to 0 as possible, but I'd definitely have more range anxiety on the road since I don't know enough about the charging infrastructure. We just did a Philly ->...

I like the R3 and potentially a R2T, but if they were to branch out from there I really think they have the opportunity to carve out space in the cargo van segment. They've already proven to be winners with the EDV that Amazon has widespread adoption for, I think they could really fill out their...

Drivers not happy with their car screens

Here's our Volvo for reference. Look at how much space is wasted by their stupid menus!!! (late edit: in case it wasn't clear, the black box is the map I just blocked it out so I don't dox myself lol)

This isnt surprising at all. Volvo had a huge UI update and managed to make some things much nicer but the overall experience is way worse. Easier to adjust fans, seat warmers, etc. but they added a persistent bar to the bottom (which you can't use/don't need any of the features with carplay)...

I honestly can't think of many instances where I'd need a 3.5 second 0-60 over a 4.5 second one. At least that I'd be willing to put in writing ;)

Hardest worker I know! I think MSRP is like 75/85 for hybrid/electric respectively depending on options (plug in hybrid and fully electric are similarly priced), I think we would go regular hybrid again, I don't think the price jump is worth it for her usage

my wife is trying to talk herself out of the top trim volvo xc90 (her lease is up in January and is also the bread winner, by a lot) which may impact future R2 or Scout purchases lol

Just to paint the other side of the fence, for me almost everyone I talk to knows about Rivian, Tesla, Ioniq, etc. and its either a blank or a "I may have heard of that before" when it comes to Scout.

The only extended warranty that I've found useful was AudiCare, paid for itself with some of the later service visits.
