    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    You know thinking about it, I think the R1T having such a short bed is what has always led me to think it's much smaller than it is. It just doesn't compare well in that regard to other full-size trucks.

    I always compared the R1T to the crew cab trucks specifically. Same with the Terra. I always figured that gave a better frame of reference for the size.

    Specs put the Terra very much in full-size territory. If we’re lucky maybe their 4th vehicle launch could be a midsize truck.

    In my younger days (early 20s) I would easily go about 400 miles. I could go from Houston to central Nebraska with only 2 stops. These days... yea I need more breaks.

    Greater range can equal greater towing range (which is usually greatly reduced), it also grants the opportunity to pick and choose the gas/rest stops a little more. My truck currently goes about 500, and what I like about it is I don't have to go to the gas station that often. It hurts a little...

    I can't remember which thread it was but Jamie cheekily implied that 500 was the bottom target, not necessarily where they'll end up. Ford is targeting 700. I'd imagine they'll be able to get somewhere north of 500.

    Is the WiFi really faster than hot spotting off your phone? We just traveled from Texas to Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska, and back and the kids just hotspot off our phones. Does the in-car WiFi have better reception? I've just never understood how it's worth paying another phone line essentially.

    A little bit, but honestly when I'm using all 6 seats it's usually for shorter trips anyhow. Nothing more than about an hour. Going out to supper, or taking visitors to a local tourist area. So no big deal.

    That's how it is in my current F-150. Cupholders in the lower part of the doors, but otherwise your main cupholders are facing the backseat.

    The smartest thing Scout can do is offer both versions... which they're doing. Their factory is optimized to work on both versions on the same line. They cater to a wider market than EREV only or EV only. This is a win-win for Scout, and a win-win for customers. In the long run the worst thing...

    I have to agree. I have zero desire in paying for a subscription for a service when the hardware is there and should just work.

    You know... on their website I do not see mention at all of the Recon's range. Odd considering that's one of the things most EVs put out there up-front. Even in the Specs I don't see it. Admittedly, I may have just missed it.

    Probably one of my favorite automotive related logos at the moment, no lie. I don't know why, but it just strikes my fancy. I've been leaning farther and farther BEV so I may only be able to admire the logo from afar in the end, haha.
