  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I was really hoping for a VR6, but I read they recently went out of production. Who wouldn't want a wookie in a Scout!!

Perhaps that means modifying existing engines? It's pretty expensive to design and build an engine from scratch.

    Questions about the Harvester

EV tech is always advancing. Scout's numbers could be better by the time they're for sale. I expect continuous improvements, whether they're year-to-year, mid-cycle, or Gen2. However, rugged vehicles like Scout will never reach the efficiency of a $110k Lucid sedan. SUVs and pickups will always...

I've never seen it addressed. A great point though. I'm sure they're working on it.

Yes it has a frunk. There are plenty of videos and pictures of it online.

    Keep it Simple - Please

Unfortunately, options=profit. In a perfect world, Scout will offer an affordable base model and enable those who want the luxuries to go crazy ticking the option boxes.

Air suspension will be available. External spare tire will be an option, too!

Owners manual in advance of delivery

I never referred to it as a VW product. VW was brought up because they are one of the companies that requires you to supply a VIN number to download an owner's manual. I'm sure there are other manufacturers doing this that I'm not aware of because I don't own their cars.

Owners manual in advance of delivery

VW probably doesn't want to give it away for free to anyone.

    Diesel generator

I can appreciate your situation, but 99.9 % of people will never encounter similar conditions. Diesel isn't a positive for the average vehicle buyer (heavier engine, more expensive fuel, not as prevalent as gas). We don't know how much power is needed to generate the required electricity...

    Driving Sounds

I would like Scout to record engine sounds from different IH Scouts. It would be cool to have the option to pipe them through the speakers and disable them when not wanted.

Traveler Ride Quality and NVH Expectations

Correct. It was early 2022 before any improvements. Although, they still have complaints about the new 2025's. That's what journalists do. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a61003046/2025-rivian-r1s-drive/

Traveler Ride Quality and NVH Expectations

People who have driven both the R1T and R1S notice the difference in driving dynamics. It doesn't sound like different expectations between pickup and SUV owners. They are both built on the same platform, after all. R1S has a wheelbase almost 15 inches shorter. Here's what Car and Driver...
