  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Just watched Jay Leno's Garage on YouTube where he got his first look at the new Scout offerings . One thing confused me as I watched. At around the 5:05 mark Jay asked about towing capacity. The answer was 10,000 lbs for the EV version Terra and "5,000 lbs for the range extender." Did I...

    Ability to Fit a Snowplow

It would definitely be a nice option!

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I'm reviewing the tread, but not seeing a response. Any updates? Sorry if you've already provided a definitive answer.

Did Your City Receive 2025 Grant Funds To Build Charging and Refueling Infrastructure?

There's a lot of good points in this thread, but my standard position is let the market drive charging locations. Looking at the FHWA article, I question the locations that were highlighted. My trips to NJ and western PA from northern VA didn't lead me to believe there was much of an issue...

    Cloth seats

I'd be good with either cloth or leather or vinyl. The most important thing to me is ease of cleaning so I can get in with dirty pants and easily wipe off.

What are you driving until release?

I alternate between a '22 Model 3 LR and a '24 Ram 2500 depending on mission set. Oh and the '66 F250 when I feel like a really rough ride :)

    Camp mode

I couldn't agree more and this type of vehicle is perfect for that capability, especially with the gas/electric design. Even if it does suck down a lot of power from the batteries, the gas generator can get you home.

Post-Reveal Scout Terra & Traveler on Tour?

Very good suggestion. Lots of car people w/deep pockets in the area and the auto show attracts a good number of them.

    Removable Rear Seats

Given a choice, I'd opt for fold flat seats over a seat I need to man handle out of the truck and store someplace.

    Spare tire discussion

Since I plan to use my bed for cargo hauling, I'd want the under body option.

    No regenerative braking!!!!!!!

Personally, I like regenerative braking, but having the option to reduce the force would be great for those who don't like it or haven't had time to adjust to driving with one pedal. Not sure how difficult it would be for Scout to implement.

"Rivian-like" order holders' into/ first drive

Prior to the first Rivian's being delivered, they held an event where order holders, automotive journalists, etc went to the factory or proving grounds for an opportunity to experience the vehicles first hand on an off road course. If it's not already planned Scout should consider doin the same...

Should Scout adopt the NACS (Tesla) charging system

Having taken several long road trips in my Tesla, I strongly recommend Scout work with them to get access to their infrastructure. I've never had a problem with their chargers. Can't say I had the same experience when trying to find a working charging station for my brother's leaf.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Definitely need a retro two tone option with one color being a white top.

What are you driving until release?

    Oh damn! Nice!

What are you driving until release?

I alternate between a Tesla Model 3 and a Ram 2500 for daily duties. The old Ford in the picture when weather is nice on the weekend

Tesla Owners - Your software feature recommendations for Scout vehicles

CarPlay or Android auto. I like using apps like Waze and Google Maps directly from my phone.

    What did you reserve?

I can't decide which one I like better, so I reserved one of each. Both with gas extender. As it gets closer to actual order date, I'll have to pick one. I think the Terra would meet my needs better, but the Traveller looks so cool.
