  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

Scout intends to land vehicles to owners at $60K or so, to start. The more a la carte they go, the more expensive and hand-built it all becomes? I'd like to have a base option that compromises none of the drivetrain, with full spare, all premium paints, and technical fabric interiors. From...

    Dimensions

120" wheelbase is right in the sweet spot, IMO. Land Rovers range from 80 - 130" and perhaps Scout Motors will introduce a SWB version of Traveler in the future. For now, the specs are good with me. Wide shoulders seem to extend to or even slightly beyond mirror edges.

    Sliding Glass Pano Roof?

Another vote for VW / Audi / Porsche style panoramic roof option. These are wildly popular, and VW has designs for Atlas, Q-Series that work quietly, reliably, and without leaks. I've owned two Touaregs and one Q7, all fitted with this option, and VW really knows how to do it. They stay low...

    Battery tech

Sodium Ion is promising future technology. Safer, with good degradation specs and easier recycling. Energy density isn't as good as the current lithium technologies, but all of them are evolving quickly.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

VW is REALLY GOOD with the split panoramic sunroofs. They are quiet, open and shut smoothly and, in my experience, NEVER LEAK. I'd love to see a VW Atlas / Touareg (my current ride) styled glass option. Must open!

    Terra - Roof Top Option

VW is REALLY GOOD with the split panoramic sunroofs. They are quiet, open and shut smoothly and, in my experience, NEVER LEAK. Having come from years of Land Rovers, which had decidedly undersized and leaky sunroofs, I'd love to see a VW Atlas / Touareg (my current ride) styled glass option...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Agreed that it would be cool to see such a green, of course, with the International Scout signature touch - maybe dressed in Rallye stripes? My favorite Land Rover was my 1995 Coniston Green Discovery Series 1. Coniston was a flat, dark grassy green, which everyone is now mimicking in grays...
