  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

100% with you, man. Let the aftermarket bring many of these accessories. The fewer options, the better. Many factory kit items are sourced via OEM third party channels, and therefore two-stepped by dealers with significant mark-ups. I love companies like Eurowise for Porsche VW Audi, who...

EVs are incredibly efficient at delivering massive torque / motion from the batteries, with better than inverse efficacy compared to gas and diesel, where most of the fuel is burned to create heat and noise. When crawling, or climbing, infinitely less energy is expended in an EV to achieve...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

Can you point to more details for how Harvester is conceived to charge, and at what cost to base battery range (before the generator / inverter? kicks in? 300 miles? 270?
  4. OIBScout

    Gas Powered Range Extender

It would be good for Scout Motors to confirm their estimates for battery range with Harvester range extender not figured in, but installed. They have to know by now how many cells are deleted from the battery only version when Harvester enters the equation. I won’t venture a speculative...

    Love the Nostalgia

I don’t begrudge the Dodge kids wanting their EV to make sound, but I don’t need this. Silently making speed in under 4 in a beefy SUV with no speed wobble is my engineering ask.

Did they say how many gallons Harvester tank will be? If it’s a small inverter type generator, should sip gas whilst charging. Very curious to read more on the Harvester engineering.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

Charlotte NC is ? in for the factory pick-up option! I mean, you can fit a visitor and delivery center somewhere on 1,100 acres.

With you, ?! I’m encouraged to see the strong support for the choice Scout Motors made. They nailed it with the Harvester option.

    Size of the traveler?

They seem to be approaching things mechanically, with the rear axle set up. Many modern, and often quite capable AWD platforms utilize traction control / ABS / hill-descent control to manage tires not in contact with the surface and differential slip. The EV typically has a speed controller...

Would you be more inclined to purchase if...

Harvester is effectively a hybrid. I don’t need a vehicle switching between gas and EV and turning off and on at stop lights. Recently sold our much loved 2019 Tesla 3 and can say EV ownership is a transformative and almost entirely positive experience. Range anxiety for 99% of Scout owners...

Hard fast ABSOLUTELY NO on gasser models. If you’d asked “Diesel?” I might have hesitated. Please, Scout Motors, stay your course! Traveler Harvester is a fantastic option. The digital UX (Community) notwithstanding, EVs are infinitely more simple machines. Having swapped alternators and...

    Dimensions

I’m a little old school, and hope to have smaller wheels and more sidewall. BFG KO3 33 X 12.50 - 18 (Load Index 125) would love to see how this looks, and if Scout might offer a 33 versus 35 factory option.
  13. OIBScout

    Size of the traveler?

It’s an EV and therefore, no transmission, if anything about Scout is like existing EVs. The Traveler is massive, so perhaps they’ll have a bracket option for 6’-6”+ drivers.
  14. OIBScout

Love bench seat, but it needs to fold down.

It’s a tricky design. With the width, I hope Scout will be able to firmly bolster the two primary seats, and allow the center bench position to share the driver and passenger bolsters for a third dished out position. The idea of a bench is great, but will feel like a compromise for most of us...

Optional full hard top for rack/camping/overlanding

VW Audi are quite adept at making no-leak, no jam panoramic sunroofs. I’ve had Land Rovers, almost all of them had leaky, prone to cockeyed opening sunroofs. Some manufacturers are very good at it, and they may be able to borrow from Atlas-Q7 with a properly engineered option for Traveler.

    See Traveler colors

Get some rallye stripes built for these concepts. Scouts beg for graphic packages.
  17. OIBScout

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Rooftop tie-ins. If they ship with factory roof rails, with four or six attaching points, it would be great to have access plugs cut into the headliner, so that roof racks could be through-bolted from in the cabin. The lack of this simple, virtually free, bit of engineering was absent on my...

    Welcome and Introductions!

Erik from NC. Experienced Land Rover expedition traveler, with much of the Americas under my belt in Defenders, Discoveries, Series trucks. Have loved International and Scout (in particular), since I was a kid in the 70s, and gleefully reserved a Traveler Harvester today.

Tire Sizes... is this up for discussion? I've happily run 31x10.50x15 and 33x12.50x15 (BFG TA KO) and wonder if the 35s might not want a smaller option, and if Scout Motors has already agonized / engineered this to death? There are many reasons to go smaller on the wheels, opening up many more...

Great news. I was never a D90 guy, but you cannot ignore that 88 - 90" segment. They are often using the trucks for more aggressive off-highway travel, whereas I'm a long-distance overland expedition user. Discovery and Defender sat right in that 100" - 110" sweet spot, but for towing, the...
