  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

I keep going back and forth on Harvester. It all depends on how much smaller the battery will be. I have faith that the full ev battery will grow. Call me crazy but I am researching rolling with a DuroMax 16,000 watt generator/inverter ($5k) I will be installing a Bruno Curbside hoist in the...

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

The way I understand the Harvester is once that 500 (250ish with trailer) mile range is hit one has to recharge not just add gas and keep going. Just wish for the Terra they could fit the bigger 350 (or more by release date) mile battery then have a smaller Harvester engine that goes 100 or so...

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

So I am going to upgrade my off road trailer when I purchase my Terra. The trailer is the max weight and size that I would want to go to with Terra. It is an Exodus Capax. Here are the specs: 1. 7,750 lb gvwr. 6,700 dry 2. 21 ft long 3. 700 pound tongue weight 4. 8' 4" wide cab over wheel I...

    Range and Competitiveness

I don't believe that would be possible but maybe others more in the know can correct me.

    Range and Competitiveness

I agree and by the time the Scout is realest there will be more. For me I can drop and rehitch my trailer in 5- 10 minutes so not a deal killer that's for sure.

    Range and Competitiveness

My feeling is by the time the Scout is released the extra time and planning to charge will be doable.

Any official pictures &/or renderings w/a Receiver Hitch?

Out west there is a large community of folks that pull thier off road trailers into the steep mountains. Alot like to go out all year long. Beefy well insulated trailers weight 5-10 k pounds. EV s are getting the range now that folks like us are very interested going this route.

    Questions about the Harvester

I agree and also going full EV unless somehow Scout could fit the largest battery possible and maybe go with the smallest extender possible. Like 400 range on ev with another 150 on extender. Maybe it could work like this in the Terra? A dude can dream right?

Any official pictures &/or renderings w/a Receiver Hitch?

I am sure they will. If thier mentioning towing capacity of 10,000 Terra and 8,000 Traveller then they have to be offering a tow package that includes everything you mentioned.

Any official pictures &/or renderings w/a Receiver Hitch?

Yes a 2" hitch receiver is an absolute must have imho on both models. Please don't bury it to far under bumper. For us folks who pull small off road trailers having to use an extended draw bar to clear tire is a deal killer

What are you driving until release?

One more pic. An all white Terra would match my Trailer very well. Can't wait to take this same pic with the Terra June of 2027!

What are you driving until release?

Your being optimistic on release date. I like that.

What are you driving until release?

2023 GX 460 Luxury with Off-Road Package. The mpg keeps me awake at night. Looks like the Scout will be the closest ev in Off-Road capability.

    Camper Shell

Probably not but Scout is different right? Trust them to design one better then cap MFGers. I would imagine if done right it would possibly help the aero dynamics. Am I wrong?

    Camp mode

I thought the harvester doesn't kick on until 150 miles on ev battery?

    Camp mode

I guess the Riv stove is fancy enough to use in your house but for camp purposes I will stick with my propane camp chef blind stove or a Partner steel one. I mostly roll with a off road caravan that had oddles of propane. Induction stoves are a power suck. It would be cool for a tailgater if one...

    Camper Shell

Yes sorry I was searching for the word cap but typed camper. If Scout offered a cap it would be more aero. If we have to wait for after market that's going to be 2030. If Scout offered a camper it would have to be crazy expensive.

    Camper Shell

I agree it would be nice. I have always had camper shells on my truck. Having a dog and living in snow country it's a must. If we have to wait for companies like GFC it will take years after the Scouts are released before they will be available. Just a factory straight forward shell no bed or...
