  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Questions about the Harvester

I just talked to my buddy Joe who is a pilot and Rivian owner. I just realized I have no idea what I am talking about and everyone should ignore any of my posts on the Harvester. I will wait and learn the specifics when Scout gives us more information.

    Questions about the Harvester

I don't believe the battery in the Harvester model will be 1/3 the size of the total EV. Seems like this speculation is based on that 150 range information. Again there has to be a 30-40 % soc on the battery when the inverter kicks in.

    Questions about the Harvester

My guess is it will be more then 8k. I would say 12 k.

    Questions about the Harvester

I want to thank you for your knowledge and input. My inclination is full ev as well That Tesla removable exstended battery pack seems like the best idea but Scout has to much going on to switch gears to that.

    Questions about the Harvester

Good point I will stop posting about this aspect of the Scout until we get answers. I do feel like folks are under the impression the Harvester will be able to do the impossible. Time will tell

    Questions about the Harvester

It could replace the Harvester. I know not liklely so forget i said that.

    Questions about the Harvester

Scout wouldn’t charge that much. Plus they could do it from the get go.

    Questions about the Harvester

Looks like Tesla is coming out with a range extender battery pack that is 600 pounds and is removable. (By a Tesla mechanic). This makes more sense to me.

    Questions about the Harvester

All i know is it takes a huge inverter generator to charge a battery as big as the Scout will have while it's just sitting with the engine off. How could the Harvester generator charge a battery that is completely depleted and in motion?

    Questions about the Harvester

They are calling it a " range extender " which does not sound synonyms with "Gas and Go" to me. I assume the Harvester models will have a battery big enough to go 250 miles so when the Harvester kicks in at 150 there could be 30-40% charge still left in it. Then the gas inverter generator kicks...

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

If you look at the size of the DuroMax generator around 30x38 at 34" tall and 350 pounds. I am sure the Harvester won't have that big of foot print and maybe it won't be able to charge at all when the vehicle is not in transit?

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

I am talking about while I am camping and sleeping at night. Will it charge the truck batteries in 8 hours?

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

Yes, what currant tow vehicle would you use for an off-road trailer? How many people do you camp with?

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

It would have to as well as brake controller, 7 pin. You know a typical tow package or they would even talk about a 10,000 lb towing capacity.

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

Yes I read everything. That is were i came up with my assumptions. In your opinion don't you think the Harvester could produce the same amount of watts as the duraax 16,000?

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

If i go total ev and use generator i would arrive at camp with 10% charge. If I stay at camp the gas for the generator to keep truck near 80 % might be more like 30 gallons which is probably 3-4 days max. It all boiles down to will that Harvester generator charge at Level 2 speed. It has to...

Towing a Off-Road Trailer with the Terra

The following is how I understand the Harvester works, please correct me if I am wrong. I assume that if the battery only has 150 miles (75 towing) range and the Harvester generator has 350 that the battery is significantly smaller then the 350 range of the total EV model. My guess is that when...
