  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Camping / Overland Ideas

Last year JD Power reported that “Electric vehicles account for less than 1% of the 250 million vehicles, SUVs, and light-duty trucks sold in the United States.” And then last month the LA Times reported, “For the first time in more than a decade, electric vehicle sales dropped significantly in...

    Rivian R2

Not OG yet, it's a '21 in the short-lived antimatter blue color, we're hanging onto it.

    Rivian R2

Agree those wheels on the R3X are sick and the orange paint on the mirrors throws a nicely distinct look. Kudos to Rivian for making a vehicle that car enthusiasts can get excited about, with the R3X. Can’t wait for the Scout reveal. It’s between the R3X and the Scout, for my personal...

    Rivian R2

Bit of a stretch to call a rear window (a la 4 Runner) and pop windows (a la any 90s minivan) an “open air experience” . . . Looked like even RJ wanted to laugh when he said that. Can’t wait to see what Scout does with the open air experience.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

Chrysler launched the Plymouth Barracuda in the marketplace on April 1, 1964, technically beating the Ford Mustang's official on-sale date by sixteen days, but any plausible advantage provided by the abbreviated head start proved fruitless. Ford took 22,000 orders for Mustangs on April 17, 1964...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Don’t think I saw this one, which is surprising for a Scout forum: Cool graphic options!

    Give us the ‘WOW’

Totally agree that Toyota missed the emotional mark with the new LC. I’m still not sure why they didn’t offer this one in North America. https://global.toyota/en/newsroom/toyota/40139890.html

Not sure about the all electric I prefer gasoline

I’m fine with the new Scout being BEV, although hybrid would be better for for my personal use outdoors and also for SM’s business (I know, too late). I don’t think there are many people paying close attention to the auto market over the past year still saying that Toyota was wrong for sticking...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

You’re wrong about two doors, completely. The overriding reason people buy a two door is the looks. In fact, the main reason people buy any vehicle, whether they admit it or not, is looks. And the turning radius is nice, but the real advantage of a short wheelbase is breakover angle. What...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

I’m only halfway through this thread, a year late, but I want say that a long wheelbase two-door is my dream. It’ll never happen but if it did, I would buy several like a fitted shirt.
