  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

Not to sidetrack the thread but I have to say, my Bronco is 3 years old this week and all I’ve had to do is change the oil every 3k-5k miles. I’m approaching 60k miles.

    VW is investing in Rivian

You believe that this hasn’t been covered already by the appropriate people at SM and local, state, and federal governments, and that this forum is the place to fix perceived environmental issues, at this late date? That’s an incredible amount of hubris.

    VW is investing in Rivian

Most folks just don’t like change in their town, I’m surprised there aren’t more local gripes.

    VW is investing in Rivian

You conveniently avoided saying “A company are collectives” because they’re not plural.

    VW is investing in Rivian

“Scout are…” “VW are…” “Rivian are…” Scout is a singular company, folks; same with VW and Rivian. There’s just one of each. As for the news about VW’s investment in Rivian, I think it’s fairly common for competing automakers to collaborate/invest in joint programs and each other. In...

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

A Scout should not be about features that make the 405 freeway more comfortable. I think the CEO said in an article that what inspired him to resurrect the name Scout was knobby tires on a two door he saw at the beach during Covid. And all of the Scout advertising thus far has been focused on...

    Defender example

I guess I’m torn about how refined I’d like the new Scout to be. On one hand, I want a true off road vehicle. On the other, I already have a short wheelbase Bronco on 35’s with front and rear lockers, and it’s not going anywhere. And the Scout would slot in as the daily driver. So, maybe I...

Did it come from the factory with two-tone paint? Looks great.

It’s easy to see in these photos that she loved that Scout. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see the other pics! Hope to see the restoration process, too.

Wanted to share the story of the car of my dreams.

Pleasure to read this story, Napper. Got any photos of either Scout?

Direct competitor: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S

I noticed the “off road version” of the Wagoneer S does not have a locking front diff. I rarely use the front diff because it can break steering components if you’re not careful, but man is a locking front diff a game changer when you need it.

Direct competitor: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S

Not horrible but it could’ve been better with a more classic Wagoneer design instead of the space-age spoiler and overall design/shape that looks like every other car on the road. The wheels on that green one in the video look like they copied Rivian. Jeep should be better than that. And I...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

If it’s the size of a Yukon, it’s not an off road vehicle; it’s more of a vehicle that just looks the part for those who don’t know any better, like a Z71 or Trail Boss or whatever name the marketing department slaps on an otherwise minivan.

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Thanks for this analysis, it’s exactly what I was looking for when I searched for “price” on here.

    MAX RANGE

So you’re saying the cybertruck is too expensive? I think a lot of folks will be disappointed when they see the sticker on the new Scout.

Jump seats for the occasional 7-seater option

Is a jump seat like a front row bench, or the way, way back in a wagon? When I think of jump seats, I think of airplanes and a seat off to the side by itself. Oh wait, maybe you’re saying the new Scout truck should have an extended cab like in the 90’s before all trucks became four doors? Or...

Light tan leather interior option please!

Concur that the mix of dark and light interior upholstery is atrocious and needs to end, however, I’d prefer a solid dark brown leather instead of light. Either way, just be consistent. I spend the bulk of my time inside the vehicle so I won’t do a hideous interior.
