  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Renderingss from TopElectricSUV

Would like to see the same treatment for the back of the rear door window as between the rear doors only white to match the top. Eliminate the blind spot. It would be nice to have some front and rear renderings.

    Electric crate motor

https://www.hagerty.com/media/news/2021-08-20/ Similar to this, one in front and one in back. 100kwh 400 mile range batteries. Are cold weather battery degradation in range and longevity of batteries solved yet?

    Wheel base

    Perfect!

    Grille

I think a nice grille that combines the diamond mesh of the early Scout with the frame of the SSII. Scout script in the center. Round 7" H4 LED diamond cut headlights. Got to have a grille. The Tesla and Mustang SUV look cheap and plastic without a grille.

    Wheel base

Rear wheels should be back farther on SUV than Scout II. On the Terra pickup should be in the middle of the bed.

    Early door shape

Kind of inbetween the Wrangler front and rear for the Scout front door with hidden hinges. How about 2 piece soft doors with slider windows as an option.

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Heat pump for heating and cooling. Rubber mats or Marine carpeting. 35" diameter tire size. Coil springs all four corners. Removable top and doors.
  15. Jim Nichols

    Early door shape

Jeep Wrangler rear door only with rounded corners and hidden hinges.

    Early door shape

I hope the new Scout has the early 80 and 800 door shape. Although I prefer a 2 door I wonder if anyone could photo shop a 4 door with that shape of door? Of course, removable doors and top.
  17. Jim Nichols

    Rear Seats

Those seat ideas would only apply to a 2 door model. 4 door would have a conventional rear seat.
  18. Jim Nichols

    Rear Seats

They fold up on each side. They would allow a little more cargo space.

    Axles, suspension ideas

Old school solid axles. Dana 44 high pinion reverse cut front and Dana 44 rear both with WaveTrac LSD. HD tie rods. Coil spring and dual shocks front and back. Kind of like having aftermarket updates stock! 17" 35" tires. Factory lift kit. Other ideas? http://wavetrac.net/

    68 Scout 800

I had a 68 800 that looked exactly like this picture of a 69 except round headlight rims. 15 years daily driver and hunting rig. Never let me down!
