  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    All gas

I don’t think EVs will replace combustion engines until there is a change in battery technology and cost. After that, I think we will see a huge jump to EVs. Even at the current low adoption rate BEVs, batteries are $$$$. Right now the cost is keeping EVs with the more affluent crowd...

Should Scout Motors consider a remake of the 1981 Scout SSV? A Scout SSV For the Future

I never knew that existed! It’s a little … Ugly… but I like the size. I would love a smaller version of the new Scouts.

    Camp mode

I'd love this too. I'm hoping the roof options will enable some neat after market options. Remove the Cabana Top and add at tent? Scout people, have you thought about giving Colorado Campervan or SportMobile an early look at what your doing? It could open a wide range of aftermarket...

    Headlights Have Been Re-Designed (slightly)

The overall look of the headlights is growing on me.

    Pop top

I was complete uninterested in the fancy roof options Scout has been show casing, until a thought struck me. I wonder if that giant window might open up the possibly of aftermarket pop-top style tents without cutting a hole in the car. I’ve seen a few a Honda elements around with something...

Dedicated space for trash and tissues and overall cleanliness?

I have the same rule, and the same problem! There is always some wrapper and trash after the kids are in the car. It's worse after my wife uses my car, she doesn't believe in the no food rule. So she's worse than kids....she one-ups them with coffee spills and kitchen plates. :/

    Removable Rear Seats

I just don’t see stripping bolt heads a problem. I removed the seats from my Samurai a LOT. The bolt heads still look great and have the factory protective coating. That said I don’t want to remove seats if I don’t have too. I want something that lays flat, so I can sleep back there. I...

Beautiful previews of Traveler on 37's + winch off-road bumper + roof rack ?

Bigger tires have their place. There are places my Samurai couldn’t go with its 30” tires that I watched jeeps with 35s roll past. The compromises are not worth it to me, but I don’t grudge those guys their fun.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

I like it too. But I’d REALLY like a Traveler powering that tree.

    Camp mode

camp mode. Yes! For me, this might be the most appealing thing electric vehicles have to offer

A kitchen would be ridiculous, but I wouldn’t be sad

I'm pretty sure they don't make them, and I'm sure they have a healthy mark up,

A kitchen would be ridiculous, but I wouldn’t be sad

As long as the vehicle has a decent inverter, I guess you could buy any induction cooktop. Looks likes Rivian sells there cooktop separate? Fingers crossed the Travler gets an inverter too.

A kitchen would be ridiculous, but I wouldn’t be sad

I think you’re right. I want it anyway.

A kitchen would be ridiculous, but I wouldn’t be sad

Ok, I know it’s ridiculous, and Scout really shouldn’t do it. But I hope they include an option for a kitchen like Rivian.

Scout Field Service Manuals - Technical Manuals Would Be Fantastic For Owners

Everything needs services and repairs. Factory service manuals are an invaluable resources. There are still Tesla mechanics. Granted it wont need a timing belt every 60k like my Samurai. Ps I’m camp PDF. I’ll print the sections I need.

    Size comparison

The front comparison against Bronco is encouraging. When I compared the numbers between the two, I thought the Travler was going to be super wide. I wonder if ford is measuring from different points than Scout. It’s still a bigger vehicle than I would prefer, but maybe not as bad as I thought

    Kia Electric Tasman Pickup

I would cross shop if it had a harvester like option, or an insanely long battery range. The is Terra is a little bit bigger than what I would care for. But the history, harvester, and standard off-road features really make the scout stand out

    Size comparison

    That would be fantastic.
