  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

No in this thread it would have come in handy though ha. Short for Idaho Engineer (software). I don't discredit your experience, there are a lot of unknown factors at play too. Like software control and manipulation of power output, based on environment variables. Eg, running on range extender...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Is there someone at SM @Jamie@ScoutMotors maybe. That could help clarify this. Not getting into specifics, but a very vague high level. Can the Harvester power output impact vehicle performance, or will it only impact how much and how fast it can charge the battery. And what happens when you...

    Scout Badges/Patches

Ha anytime. I must say this forum definitely feels more open and welcoming than most forums out there.

    Scout Badges/Patches

You ever see that meme of someone glueing gem stones all over their steering wheel for good vibes?.... Essentially making a frag grenade. I get that vision placing sharp objects all over the front of the dash...

Love bench seat, but it needs to fold down.

Fold down and somehow still have lots of storage space.

    Scout Badges/Patches

Are we going to get physical versions of our forum badges?? ?

    OS Handle

I try to avoid yanking on the steering wheel. I use the paracord grab handle on my Wrangler. So having something on the driver side would be appreciated.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

So many tech companies decide what is best and take consumers out of the question. Scout Motors is a tech company, in addition to a automotive one. I implore giving some control back to the consumer. I want to own the vehicle, not feel like I'm subscribed to it. Another thing, don't make...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

The way modern Lithium batteries work is that you basically have full power/performance until empty. Eg, doesn't slowly dull out like an old C battery flashlight. That and no direct connection between Harvester and drivetrain. So should be no issue with under performant engine there in that...

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

I see a lot of take it or leave it opinions on auto sensing wiper blades. If my wife's Hyundai in same price bracket can do it, I see no reason for a trivial and cost efficient add for Scout. It is really nice to have and personally I would want it. Even if part of a package. The one thing I...

    Scout Badges/Patches

Cool idea. Regarless of the logo or symbol style. I'd request that the physical shape is hexagon (honeycomb) very space efficient and looks great as you build out the collection.

    Possibilities

How bout plugging an external device into the display. Thinking like a small gaming system for when your parked of course. But want to kill time or give the kids something to do. You can make a decent retro arcade style machine with a Raspberry Pi.

    Possibilities

I'll go first. Having the plugs in the bed of the Terra, could put some kind of boot/glove heated dryer in there. Might smell putting in back of the Traveler.

    Possibilities

So I see a lot of suggestions and kind of wish list posts. But how about just possibilities you can think of with what we know is going to be available. Will use comments here to brain storm some ideas for sure.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

Yeah I agree, I think most drivers would probably be fine. I think I would be fine 90% of the time too. But we do drive long distances, my kids hockey season will take us to three or four states in itself. So for those trips. Peace of mind will be worth it. Especially in frigid and sometimes...

    Testing

I too would love to volunteer as a tester. This would be mostly for diagnostic data collection like performance while at X elevation, ambient temp all that. And would provide some user feedback to. But will be straight up I'm not a reviewer person and not a mechanic. But I do live near several...

How flat towing should work in a perfect world....if Scout makes it a feature.

I personally feel hesitant to put all kinds of smarts and logic into the flat towing. Mainly out of ignorance. But the ability should be there to flat tow for sure. And I dunno if regen breaking is needed or simply in flat tow mode the rolling wheels simply produce the energy.

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

Maybe just a low rumbling voice that says "mmmmoooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvee" ?

    Gas Powered Range Extender

But fitting a tire and Harvester under the bed? Thinking if going with Harvester then tire has to be in the bed.

    Chargers

This would really help with the spousal approval factor. Credit or discounted install through 3rd party national contractor.
