  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This looks like the first real “possible” for SSB. I know they won’t make it for our Scout’s initially but oh boy.

That’s a lot closer, thanks. Might have been a little darker even, but there was no blue in it.

The slides are old and some color crossover has ocurred. Plus the editor on my iPad is the basic one that came with it 9 years ago.

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

My first Scout, my first car. A 1966/800 with 4-speed and four cylinder. The original color was the original blue with a white top this shows the dark metallic gray paint job. The photo doesn’t do it justice, it was much cooler in person. See the two little wires coming out of the grill going...

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

This thread is really bringing my thinking into focus. In a way earlier thread I mentioned that my Scout ‘want’ is emotional, based on my growing up experiences. My posts above should make this clear. If I’m brutally honest with myself, a Slate will do 99-44/100’s % of my present and...

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

The ‘67 stuck Burying the spare to act as a deadman. Must have worked because we didn’t leave the Scout there. Winch bumper on the ‘67 in its new color. Great bumper but plays heck with the approach angle. It’s hard to tell from the old photographs, but this color looks remarkably like Silo...

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

July 1969 The first switchback below the mill on the Black Bear, it’s probably the worst of the bunch. IIRC it was about a 5 point maneuver to make the corner. That’s me driving, I was 17. The old Scouts did not turn tightly. Even the original Broncos had trouble making this corner without...

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

July 1969 Ouray, CO. The ‘67 in its new paint, the top stayed home for this trip. Going up the East Fork of the Cimarron river. A “Sunday” excursion ;) The ‘Z’ switchback on the face of the saddle between Uncompahgre and Chrystal peaks. It’s necessary to reverse up the central leg as...

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

You might find these fun. Dad rolled the ‘67 Scout at 6th. & Simms about a month before a Canyonlands trip (March 1969). Sixth & Simms was an unofficial off-road park on the west end of Denver before it was developed for housing. First group shows smushed Scout, second group shows Scout body...

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

Dad and the rest of us got the ghost town/jeeping bug early. In 1962 a CJ was not big enough for a growing family. He considered the Jeep station wagon for a time and probably would have purchased that except is about $1000 more than the Scout, so Scout it was. I don’t think he ever seriously...
