  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

You know it does have an almost doll-like quality. I can assure you those are real people in a real campsite with a real Scout and Bronco. This will probably be the last pics in this group. I’ve reached the end of Dad’s slides that I have, sadly no more to see… unless I come across some hidden...

Elephant Hill on the same trip. There was winching just beyond this point on the hill.

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

Couldn’t resist this group from March of 1975. Camping in the Devil’s Kitchen area of Canyonlands. I was in Bozeman, MT freezing my things off.

Rebel-rouser! My response is… a story. When I was an early teen I had a musician uncle. He mostly played folk and ballads on the banjo. In the ‘60’s when Blue Grass was all the rage I asked; Uncle Freddie, can you play Blue Grass? His response—“I’d like to be able to play Blue Grass, and then not.”

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Hard to disagree with this one. As a school bus driver i see it with many commercial drivers as well. An 18-wheeler with a texting driver (I’ve seen it when driving our 35’ Temsa coach) really ticks me off.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

A question for you 1-pedal drivers. Do the brake lights come on during regen?

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

The ‘67 on the rock. This is how we rolled when all the camping gear is still packed onto the Scout. Notice we didn’t need gigantic ‘special’ tires to do our wheeling.

    6-ScoutFamily’s Scouting Memories

Descending the Flint Trail in Canyonlands. Notice the deflectors on the back that add stability on the trail and better gas mileage on the highway.

I’d forgotten about the Scrambler. I wonder why the re-introduction when they already have the Gladiator?

I don’t care! I thought of it for the Terra! It’s mine! (Kinda like PBY, ya-know)

I can kind of see both sides, and I bet many RV parks’ electrics are not up the task. Park owners haven't had to consider this need until the last few years. Seems like a good way for an RV park to maximize their revenue.

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

Just so we are clear… “Freedom Units” is the red-neck designation and I didn’t even know it until about a year ago. I grew up with SAE. Metric does not trouble me at all, except maybe for the conflict over gallons/miles/inches. Edit:  actually i dont have conflict. I’m just so used to...

Poll: What Tires Do You Want To See On Your Scout?

I’m conflicted on this myself. I expect a 33” tire on the Terra will look dorky, but I want every mileage advantage I can get.
