  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Sounds

Please do not add "engine noises" through the internal speakers. I have seen BMW do it in their hybrids, Mercedes in the eq, and ford in the mustang Mach e.... It never sounds real and it is cringe worthy. On the topic of sounds I know government regulations require EVs to make noises when...

    Manual Transmission

What does toaster-esque mean? Have you driven an ev before? There are no gears and with one pedal you are quite literally directly in-tune with the vehicle. No gears and transmissions and clutch means the exact movements of the pedal are exactly what the car will do. As a lover of manual...

    Plug Type

I think it is fairly safe to assume that the rivian and the scout will share many of the same characteristics because I'm going to assume they will be a similar boxy shape and they will be roughly the same size. One of the big differences will be the make up or the batteries. Rivian uses...

    Scout Quality

I will admit I never heard about the scout before the EV announcement. But when I learned about the pedigree and the history of the scouts it was exactly what I'm looking for. I currently have a model 3 and I wished I got an SUV because I have a family and trunk space in the model 3 is limited...

    Truck version

Is that an official rendering? It looks also a lot like the hummer EV

What variation are you most interested in?

Hello all. I am curious what configuration everybody is most interested in. From what I read there are plenty of people looking for all of the versions that I will put on this poll. Considering that each version while similar they will still be essentially be different vehicles. They will likely...

    Plug Type

I'm sure if you really wanted to you could buy some equipment to facilitate Lvl 3 charging at your house...so it is possible but is is very much unnecessary and likely super expensive. just for reference i use level 1 charging for my Tesla model 3. I have been doing that for the last 2 years...

    Realistic range concerns.

This is a real reason why a heat pump is so important for colder weather climates. The vehicles that have heat pump supported AC systems are far more efficient when generating heat for the cabin. the VW ID.4 for North America decided not to include a heat pump and instead it used an electric...

    Manual Transmission

I would love to use one of those conversion kits on a Jeep Cherokee

Where are you getting a hard wired J1772? in your home? if you get a J1772 hard wired wired in your home then that 100% will work with a Scout that has a CCS1. Nobody does DC charging in their home because all homes run on AC power.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I can't seem to find the post you are referring to. I am just curious what the original colors from the old scouts were. I am only finding what is the poll for the new proposed colors

    Scout Color Poll #1

I see so many Scout pictures from other users that are such bright colors. What colors did the scout originally get offered with? Was it always so bright? Either way I hope the bright colors stay because they look fantastic

    Plug Type

Ah I understand you now. The reason a jeep 4xe has only a J1772 is because it's battery is small and cannot handle nor does it need DC fast charging. J1772 cannot handle as much charging speed as a CCS1. Which is why it is most likely the CCS1 port that will be on a Scout. But you can still use...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

I compiled a list of some of the most likely competitors and their wheel bases: Jeep wrangler 2door 96.8" Ford Bronco 2 Door 100" Rivian R1S 121.1" Ford Bronco 4door 116" Jeep Wrangler 4door 118.4" Rivian R1T 135.8" Jeep Gladiator 137.3" Toyota Tundra 4door 140.6"

    Manual Transmission

It might be fun, i do miss the sensation but much like those simulator rides at Disney...you will know something is missing and it is all fake. The only argument i can come up with against this method of thinking is that party mode and farting doesn't require anything additional that isn't...

    Manual Transmission

I am curious how the third pedal would work. The electronic systems controlling the motors sense wheel spin within fractions of a second, and with the best option for off roading having 4 independent motors that wheel spin will simply cause the computer to tell the individual motor to stop. In...

    Scout Quality

I think what @Harris005 is trying to convey is that while most vehicles on the roads today are subject to very standard conditions on roads that at most have to contend with pot holes. I think he is really asking to take into consideration that the spirit of the Scout is to be driven where...
