  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

I would say that this is very unlikely to happen. Battery packs are large, heavy and complex. Not only does a battery pack need to be electrically connected to the chassis but there are cooling tubes that go to radiators. So inorder for there to be a "swap station" it would need to have quick...

    EV focused suggestions

I really like the proximity lock/unlock feature of the tesla....I've gotten so used to it whenever i drive my wife's car i forget to lock it when we walk away. I think often if there is a key fob it will make things more complex. I really like the tesla idea of having the keycard as a back up...

    Second Scout Teaser Image Released

It looks like they incorporated the grill into a simple air channel pass through that gives the illusion of the same grill while maintaining a more aerodynamic face...it also likely acts as a front-spoiler

    Plug Type

Why do you need a tinfoil hat? The CCS1 is an old standard but it is still good. With the battery technology available today and for the near future we not only don’t need another standard but we won’t be able to out live The capabilities of the ccs1. As an example: some electrify America...

    Second Scout Teaser Image Released

I don't think it will be a function grill....it would be the same as the Ford mustang Mach-E's grill. Also the Original Tesla model S had a "grill"....it would be just a style astetic to pay omage to the original design. Additionally there will are some design methods that can use air...

    Model Names

Just tossing it out there we might want to avoid making something with the label "SS" coming from a certain German parent company that has particular origin story.....
  7. Rustic_father

    Model Names

yes 3 is used by BMW and Tesla...would be a bit of confusion/competition

    Model Names

so normally people talk about the brand then the model like the VW golf or the Subaru Forester or the BMW M3 Would these then be: Scout Scout III Scout Scout Terra Scout Super Scout III Scout Scout travelall Scout Scout 80 Or would the models be III Super III Terra Travelall 80 Do you see...

    Model Names

I thought I would pull this thread back up since I was about to ask the question.... As mentioned naming is everything and one big glaring thing is that "scout" used to be the model. And international harvester was the company name.......now "scout" is the company name. What do we think the...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

This is a project in development. It is real and it might come to the market around the same time as the cyber truck lol. The website doesn't say anything yet because the company barely has minimal staff and is still hiring.....so in ways of real information that is ready for the public we are...

    Plug Type

I agree that the form factor is much nicer and easier to handle on the Tesla, however given the fact that the Tesla plug is proprietary and VW group is already partnered with electrify america I don't see this happening... Personally I think it would be best if the whole US join the EU and...

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

I'd add proper inverters and inverter cooling to make sure they don't overheat like it seems they do in rivians. What does this mean?

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

I was curious when these ideas will be given to the design team and if we might hear what their initial ideas/thoughts about our ideas are.....like feedback to the feedback?

Scout Terra with removable doors and top

Its like you are directly targeting me with the orange....please stop i can only get so aroused ;) your drawings are getting better and better! as i have said on your other post I used to be 95% sure i only wanted the SUV but these drawings are making me like the idea of the pick up version!

    Manual Transmission

I like to think that I'm in all 3 camps in varying degrees but the main difference for me is that my version of off roading is very different from others off roading....and maybe this should be a separate topic or even a poll but what kind of "off road" capabilities does everybody expect fresh...

    Renderings

I Really like this rendering. I think this shows a boxy scout with subtle rounded edges that would modernize it without throwing out the original spirit. I'm not normally a truck person but that rendering had me thinking! excellent work!

    Manual Transmission

I drag race people all the time in my Tesla. I have the regular long range and I go 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. The performance model 3 is 3.1 seconds. I drag race chargers and challengers and mustangs. I really want to emphasize that I love manual transmissions. And EVs arnt boring.....they have...

    Scout and Audi share platform?

I think it is too early to start a witch hunt.....but I think the thing to remember is that the scout will be the Scout III ( or whatever the name is going to be) and the Audi will be the Audi QR5 E-tron and qudi will likely change the front end, tail end and all of the interior. There are...

    Scout and Audi share platform?

I think the type of platform sharing that is being implied especially with the teaser photo in the article is more along the lines of the VW Tiguan and the Audi Q4 which is really just a rebranding....other examples across VW group are VW Tiguan / Seat Tarraco / Audi Q4 . Porsche Taycan / Audi...

    Scout and Audi share platform?

Realistically It would make sense for the Scout to compete with Land rover and the Mercedes G-wagon on capabilities....they would likely operate in the same space of "Rugged SUV"....but I hope the scout and Land rover/G wagon will be polar opposites when it comes to luxury options/components and...
