  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Truck version

I think that the truck version will likely be a Uni-body and therefore not suitable for heavy duty workloads. Depending what your work fleet requirements are you can also look at the Ford f-150lightning....I know the base model is aimed at work fleets and starts at 35k. With thre lightning it is...

    Charging a non-tesla at a super charger

Some good news for non-teslas getting access to the tesla supercharger network....This used to be the biggest difference between teslas and any other EV.

For those curious about EV power

I saw this today and I thought I would share this here. This demonstrates what an EV pick up truck is capable of.

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

I really like that concept...it really goes outside of the box! But the main problem is the practicality. The rear opening hood just limits things too much. I would love for it to make it because it is very unique, but I personally prefer the practical things

Scout motors reserving names in patent office

I agree with everyone it isn't an "AH HAAAA" But it is interesting to see the names they are shooting around and are making sure are theirs

Scout motors reserving names in patent office

On the Scout EV Facebook page someone apparently dug through the US patent office to find some names that scout motors havebeen reserved. I thought I would share this info here too. (Not my screen shot)

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Likes - Storage capacity - Not only Cargo Volume but stronger components and drive train usually translate to good weight as well as towing capabilities. - 'Solid' appearance - typically not covered in plastic and looking like it'll blow away in the wind. - Durable interior components - With...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

The chances that I would actually do any of these modifications are very low but the only thing i could see myself modifying is the bumper to incorporate a winch for work / recovery purposes. While brainstorming for this question i was trying to think about all of the things that people modify...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I think @J Alynn really did a great job with their list our list has a few similarities...here is mine in my order of importance. - Apple/android car play - Multiple cameras that are both good for driving awareness/parking as well as acting as improved for off-roading. (each have different...

    Ammeter!! How could I forget??

I think you misundstand me. I am not adament about screens. I do NOT want Tesla style dashboards. What I am constantly trying to do is show that screens aren't the devil's and the terrible things many people are shreaking about like school children.....it reminds me of the times when cell...

    Owner Maintenance

The biggest thing to remember is that BEVs do not need the constant maintenance that ICE vehicles do. I have owned my Tesla for 2 years now and i have not gone to the shop for any maintenance. I have filled wiper fluid and changed some tires because i got a screw in the sidewall but other than...

    Ammeter!! How could I forget??

I don't like being a debbie-downer but a vehicle, ICE or EV built in the 2026 will have a screen. Additionally options galore only adds to not only manufacturing/design/supply complexities and difficulties but it also shrinks down profit margins which makes it harder for the company to succeed...

    Steering wheel opportunities

This is a tall order since that 3 spoke is so simple and thinly laid out. One thing to keep in mind is there needs to be an airbag in the steering wheel so it’s center will need to be larger. other than that I’m sure there is still a long of wiggle room to allow for creative modernization of a...

    Ammeter!! How could I forget??

Perhaps it should be reversed....A short skirt would represent a high ammount of energy since many would be more "eager/energetic" to see that sort of thing

    True 4WD with in-wheel motors

    link doesn't work

    Ammeter!! How could I forget??

The only person that would do any sort of verbal lashing here for this sort of thing so I'll just point out my usual thing about adding any unnecessary complexity for things that serve no practical purpose. I like to think that the origional scout trucks were (among other things) very...

    Scout Design Team Feedback V1

The main difference with NIO in China is that they mostly produce small mopeds and bikes. The style of removable battery packs that they operate with would require 10 or 15 in order to power a car

    EV focused suggestions

I totally agree they look like an after thought. I just like the idea of securing everything in the car while boating or going to the beach or camping and not having to worry about losing keys or dropping them somewhere. I haven't had any issues with my car unlocking when I work from home. The...

App / Touchscreen Interaction and Ideas

I was looking at the User interface of the Ford Maverick today and they took an approach i was wondering what you all would think of.....They did a bare bones, nothing special user interface because they know that everybody will be useing Apple/Android car play in the vehicle...so why go to...

    Trailer / Towing Discussion

I saw once there was a guy who had a Toyota RAV4 EV and he bought an additional Toyota RAV4 EV battery pack and converted the second pack into a trailer, he then hooked the two together to get good range while towing. I really like the idea of attaching jerry can battery packs to a trailer that...
