  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Car and Driver Article

many car and driver journalists have an aura of not liking EVs all together....which is understandable considering their primary audience are car lovers and still the vast majority of car enthusists are big power big noise big engine types.

    Tailgate and/or Tailgating

I just saw this video and at minute marker 4:54 he shows off the rear where it is basically a tailgate. I'm hope we can get something similar to this for the scout especially if it incorporates with a possible removable roof....either way rivians are the closest exampel of what the scout can be...

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

I didn't see those figure....so they are planning on the ram being super un-arodynamic....either that or they are being ultra conservative on their range estimates. I know the scout will be "block shaped" but I have confidence that you guys will make something aerodynamic somewhat similar (or...

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

I'm glad you didn't take offense to anything i said, i can get on a rant sometimes. Towing is one of the biggest challenges that face EVs because of the aerodynamics of it. at least with the Tesla Semi they can control the Aerodynamics because everything is a standard trailer/size/shape. I can...

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but i just wanted to give my thought on the idea because it is relevant to battery pack size etc. I imagine that in the future the main difference between battery packs will be battery chemistry which will be a curved price structure instead of a...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I agree with your assessment. Even if the solar panels give a few hundred watts per hour that would be enough to keep fans and coolant pumps running....and in an EV every little bit helps. Also if you are parked a few hundred watts per hour means you are gaining back a mile or two of range every...

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

I apologize in advance if i appear confrontational on this topic but as with any new technology there are fears about "how"...."how will this change what I'm doing now?" "How can i do this when I'm so used to that?" Yes an EV can run out of power just like an ICE can run out of fuel. Yes being...

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

While it is very exciting to see that a dodge ram truck has an estimated 500 miles there is a factor to consider: long range means large battery which means high initial cost. with lithium ion batteries are the most energy dense and it also is very expensive see below: with the best known...

    Does Scout own Scouts??

*in german accent* "can you imagine driving that on the autobahn" I lived in Germany for 5 years and I can tell you that the demographics and the vehicle types are vastly different over there. while VW offers a pick up truck they are about as common on German streets as a smart car is on...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I agree with everything you said but i just want to point out that "real switches and knobs" will be simply connected to the central computer, nothing even in modern ICE cars is a separate / direct / independent system any more.

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

My personal hot take on the situation is VW is after "The American Market" with the scout brand. Especially considering when we all participated in the "4 words that describe scout" the majority of us put down "American" in some form. Inherently in the American spirit there is a Ruggedness and a...

But the original Scout that explored America was gasoline powered.

You would be surprised, the infrastructure isn't as bad as you think. I have not upgraded my house to a 240v charger yet so currently my car uses less electricity than my vacume does....so in theory it the grid can handle everyone running their vacuum at the same time right? One big difference...

App / Touchscreen Interaction and Ideas

So is the sports radio on a local FM radio radio station? i don't have much experience with this mainly because i haven't listened to terrestrial AM/FM radio in probably 3-4 years. Not to add yet another app to your collection but you might want to check out iheart radio. it is an app that...

These renders and the success of the rivian R1T has me in the camp of: as long as the scout has a big and practical frunk I am going to go for the truck version.

It looks like you incorporated some of the newest teaser image features into your drawings.... I have to say I'm starting to look at the Pickup version a lot more favorably lately.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I agree with this completely. This is something I'm not fond of in my tesla. while I'm sure the driver assist features are useful for 90% of everyday users...car enthusiasts typically do not need/want driver assist features. Here is a list of a few drivers assist / nanny-aware features in my...

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

we will see what the cyber truck actually tows....besides who knows the scout might beat it to the market lol

    Daily Driver Comforts

This will be less of an issue for EVs especially ones that use phones as keys. 99 times out of 100 people always have their phones with them now adays, and with EVs always "on" the systems are less passive. From the Tesla perspective not only does my phone unlock the car as soon as I get into...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I've read through these comments and I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say Superfluous frill wet dreams....lets be respectful because the people that wrote those things actually want it, and on top of that the vast majority of the people here are scout owners who also want a "real...
