  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Buttons vs screens

I'll start by saying i agree with everything you said. I maintain my stance that the buttons that the Scout should have should be tactile, rugged and satisfying...i want buttons.....but i don't want 264 buttons and switches that will be a ADD person's wet dream. I want a simple vehicle interface...

    What If?

I came across this article today. It is an interesting blend concept. There appears to be a solar “roof”/“sloop” or something. It appears it is retractable to provide full useage of the truck bed but it can acordian down to reveal not only solar panels but it would provide a more aerodynamic...

    Buttons vs screens

As the designated "touch screens aren't that bad" guy i felt i had to respond. First i want to state my position that i don't want a tesla screen only style. Much of my arguments are challenging people's perceptions and to point out inaccuracies in thinking or logic. with that being said lets...

    What If?

I have looked in to this, while it will generate some energy it would be very little and the added cost and weight makes it not worth it with current technologies. This is the same as the other reply i said. Conservation of energy. You are combining an electric motor that is not 100% efficient...

    What If?

I hate to be the annoying guy who shoots this down but that is a snake oil remedy. The main problem is the conservation of energy principal. 1)The turbines will create drag. 2) turbines won't be 100% efficient, so they won't be able to capture all of the energy that is required to operate them...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

This is by far one of the most annoying parts about buying a car are the packages..... -If you give me a list of options let me choose those without requiring me to buy an entire package. Just because i want to upgrade my ifotainment system doesn't mean i want to buy the whole "technology...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I wanted to do this kind of analysis too, however as i mentioned before these teaser images are not 1:1 models of the final version. These might be an artist's version of an image they have seen of the current plan. This is for a few reasons 1 reason could be to protect industry secrets by not...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I didn't know we were expecting so many versions. I was only expecting a 2 door (future) 4 door suv, and 4 door truck. I do like the idea of expanding the line up to a van in the future too....there is no electric minivan yet in the space (until ID Buzz) which would be a hot vehicle for the US...

    What buyer type are you

just for reference 26 MPGe would be terrible....for reference the Rivian gets 74 MPGe and whats worse is the HUMMER EV which gets about 47MPGe and is considered a terribly inefficient vehicle...much like it's ICE version.

    What buyer type are you

I want to expand on the idea behind "what kind of buyer are you" I love cars and I also love the analysis that can come from associating what vehicle someone buys is a reflection of who they are and what they value as a person. Cars not only are the 2nd most expensive thing people buy, but many...

The problem with false floors in EVs

The reasoning there are false floors and not just deep caverns on some cars have a lot to do with safety compliance. While you could have a very deep pocket in the trunk you still need to have a bumper that meets standards and out of convince it is better to have the "floor" near where the...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I can appreciate your attention to detail but there is one main factor that is apparent: the design has not been finalized yet, and second those are just teasers.....so a teaser is an image produced by an artist's interpretation of this initial stage and not a 3d model of the current model...

    Realistic range concerns.

another great tool to use is ABRP. this is more accurate and has better information based on the vehicle you are driving. i reccomend you tell it you are useing a rivian R1T or R1S (depending what scout you are interested in). this will let you know not only where and how long you will need to...

    Model Names

I'm not as familiar with the pedegree of what Rallye was used for but i think that it would be an great term for an off road trim. So the off road 4door would be a Rallye Traveler. but thats just my thoughts as someone who doesn't have much of a history with the brand.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

3 feet shorter is quite a significant estimation. based on what renders do you gain a reference for size? Everything that officially has been put out is that wheel base will be comparable to any of it's main competitors (rivian, wrangler, bronco).....and if the wheelbase is "similar" then i...

    What buyer type are you

I really like how well thought out each of your options are. great survey.

What do you think of the designs from Alpha Motors?

my initial reaction is that it looks like the truck marty gets at the end of back to the future. when i looked on their website I think their look can be defined as "modern old." It really looks like they took old desigs and did minimal changes to make them "not old." i i don't consider that...

    Preregistration

i know nobody officially at scout want to throw out any dates because they don't want to be held to those committments....but i'm going to assume: if deliveries are aimed for is 2026 full production needs to start in 2025 inorder to give a good indication of what needs to be produced as well...

    International Harvester

Recently i was talking to my dad about the future Scout vehicle and it turns out my dad worked for the bank and worked on the loan that attempted to keep IH afloat while they were selling the scout.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Rivian also has multiple cameras specially used for off-road spotting. Some in this forum do not want any cameras. so i think a "happy middle" is to have these extra cameras as apart of an off road package/option. Rivian has space for their spare tire underneath both of their models, the...
