  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I'm in MA too. Further west, closer to the NY border. My house and the area I drive regularly to do site visits for customers is at least as big as the area you have circled, and also in an area without many chargers. I drive a full BEV Lightning. Do I worry about range or fast chargers along my...

    Snowstorm 2026

The snow stopped here mid-afternoon. We ended up with around 12" added to the substantial amount we still had on the ground from the last big storm and several smaller snow events since then. My snowbanks are getting pretty tall. Running out of room to put it. As usual, the Scout was up to...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Got a plow on that F150? Sounds like your gonna need one. I'd offer to come down with the Scout and plow, but it's not registered and it's stuck in low range permanently. Would take a long time to drive to NJ. Also, I would have to stop at every gas station since I only have a 6 gallon boat...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

Oh well, look on the bright side. We just got 0.1% more exclusive and cooler than everyone else. 📈

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

On that theme, there is a fair in West Springfield, MA called The Big E. It's something like the 5th largest fair in the US. People from all the New England states attend. I'd like to see the Scouts there. https://www.thebige.com/

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

Also, I looked at the Scout Nationals website the other day and it said something like we hope the Scout Motors Terra and Traveler will be at the show this year. This indicates that Scout has not committed to Nats yet for 2026. @Jamie@ScoutMotors do you know if Scout will be at Nats this year?

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

I keep saying it (kinda like @cyure with PBY) NY Auto Show!

    A Gift From Scout Motors

Went to the post office this morning and mine was in my mailbox. I haven't checked the mail in a few days so not sure which day it arrived. I'm in MA for geographical reference. There is a bulk mail permit on the envelope that says Buffalo, NY but I'm not sure if that is where it was mailed...

    New England Region

We're happy to claim you as one of our own. Hopefully, those of us planning on factory pickup can keep in touch. It would be really great if our pickup dates were close together so we can get a convoy rolling back up to New England from SC. Are you planning on factory pickup?

Modesto Scouts | Colton’s Scout Collection & Updates

Yes! Those are some of my favorite VGG episodes with that Scout!

    Website updates

Thanks Jaime. Any chance you all have a 2026 events schedule yet, or at least a few opportunities to see the concepts? I'm going to put in my usual plug here for the NY International Auto Show.

Modesto Scouts | Colton’s Scout Collection & Updates

In a recent episode of Vice Grip Garage, Derek is working on a 1978 Bronco. The column shifter is totally shot, so he gets a B&M floor shifter and uses self tappers to attach it to the transmission tunnel. He calls them "Poor Man's Spot Welds". I got a chuckle out of that.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Welcome to the forum! And, a special welcome to the Cool Kids Club! The elite and exclusive group of BEV Terra reservation holders. We may be small in numbers but we make up for it in cool factor.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

Great perspective. I actually don't have any worries about range or charging on the route. I planned the whole route out using Plugshare and there seem to be ample charging station options all the way from Chicago to Santa Monica. What I think it will come down to are two things. 1. Additional...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I had started this one recently: https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/route-66-centennial-road-trip.7462/ If we do the trip, we'll be driving through your neck of the woods. Might be cool to meet up at some point. Would love to get a group of forum members together if any others live in...

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

Would this work for a regular hybrid vs BEV comparison too? I'm contemplating a Route 66 road trip this summer and a big question will be whether to take my F150 Lightning or my wife's Kia Carnival hybrid.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Without divulging any numbers, when I was talking to Jaime at the event in NYC last September, he said something to the effect that they achieved better than expected results with the aerodynamics. Can't remember if this was also shared on the forum. That should help with efficiency.

    EREV initial release only?

I'm a little late to the party here. As President (self-appointed) of the Cool Kids Club, otherwise known as BEV Terra reservation holders, I know we will likely be last to get our new Scouts but I, for one, am staying put and keeping my reservation. Here's why: As Jaime said, Scout is...
