  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'd like to see more separation in the car buying process, which I guess is where DTC/Carvana types really shine. I like being able to talk to an actual person, in person, to get questions about my future car answered. I have tons of specific or nuanced questions about cars especially when I...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I did something pretty similar with my two most recent car purchases. I told both of them I would only work via email ("busy at work"), any addons not previously discussed and I'd walk away. Met the dealer for the first time when I was there to pick the car up, manager came over to talk about...

I loved the OG Xterra, such a fun car! I really don't get the obsession with "modernizing" cars in a way that really just completely takes away what made the originals unique.

I'm on here frequently enough to see things as they pop up, but this was a new (30 minutes ago) post from the horse's mouth so figured I'd reshare!

All dealers should operate like this. I let you know what I'm looking for and you have it ready for when I get in or I go somewhere else. As soon as I get the "aaah, someone just bought that one/its unavailable" I just turn around and leave.

    Scout delayed??

This reminds me a lot of sports when a player gives a one line comment in a locker room media scrum and it turns into a dozen articles and two+ weeks of talk radio based completely on conjecture from the original comment.

Former owner of a 96 cherokee. Great car, felt like a tank despite its size. Everything in it worked, minor stuff was easily fixable by a high schooler. Still love the design and overall silhouette of that type of vehicle (driven by love for Scout, Bronco, Land Rover etc.). Hated the direction...

I like the first one but truly am not moved in any direction by wheels. Except in the literal sense.

#4 Reservation spot for sale (?)

I reached out to him, after he did a quick verification of my identity (the usual SSN, full name, address, drivers license info) all it took was a simple western union transfer! Should be getting my email with the reservation details shortly... This is a joke. Please do not do this.

    R2 Launch Watch

I'm right there with you. The more stuff that comes out about it the further I lean towards slam dunk, but the UX is still something I'm hesitant on.
