  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

A couple of things: The Mercedes G580 EV is body-on-frame with a solid rear axle. Ram hasn't cancelled the (formerly Ramcharger) REV, and the same EREV powertrain will be available in the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Norway is such an outlier though. It's a country with less than 6 million people, but a sovereign wealth fund of over $2 trillion dollars! They have offered generous EV incentives and have a zero emissions mandate. It's an impressive feat, but not easy to duplicate...

What would you be willing to pay for a paint color?

I was willing to pay $2,500 for a custom paint color on my 2019 VW Golf R. Unfortunately, VW canceled the program after having my order for months. The Spektrum program had some great colors. https://media.vw.com/releases/1065

So much doom and gloom! First, it was the towing crowd, and now the BEaVers (yes, I'm calling them beavers). I'm surprised Scout gives us any info at all, given the overreactions. It's hard to be patient, but all will be revealed in time. Let's enjoy the ride!

Want a Scout. Don't want the Drama!

I always find it funny that people think it's so easy to just swap an ICE powertrain into the Scout. Unless your platform is designed that way from the beginning, it's no easy feat. If Scout were going to add an ICE vehicle, it would likely be based on a modified existing VW platform (like...

I was just reading Car and Driver's review of the Ford Explorer Tremor. If you want the V6 engine, you have to buy a subscription plan for Blue Cruise. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a70155141/2026-ford-explorer-tremor-drive/

January 2026 Scout Production Center Update

This is a common and understandable mistake many make. They read "350 miles for BEV, 500 miles with Harvester", and (incorrectly) assume the batteries are the same and Harvester only adds 150 miles of range.

It sounds like they're cutting costs to make up for the loss of the $7,500 credit. That's understandable. Perhaps interest in their product has waned since the credit went away.
