  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Removable Doors

After a bit of research, I would have to agree. Closing G-Wagen doors are like closing a bank vault.

    Removable Doors

I mean, I hate on them ?. They have their niche and times they would be nice, but it’s not something I’ll ever do. I’m almost the complete opposite. I don’t want removable doors on the Traveler. If anything, I want sturdy, solid doors that give that delectable, German “thunk” when they close...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Here’s one, don’t pay wall my truck. It’s a one time payment for features. Subscriptions are limited to services

Option to delete the glass / cabana roof

I have to assume the same. Hopefully there's at least an off-road centric trim level that enables this as a choice while not excluding us from all of the uprated tech. i.e. Rubicon/Willys vs the Sahara

Molle Panels or Storage Tie Point in the Sides/Top of the Frunk

That's just one, central spot on the back. I'm talking about the rest of the sides that are just smooth plastic at this point.

Option to delete the glass / cabana roof

Hopefully a standard metal roof will be available on more than just the base model. Give us a sunroof/cabana delete option on all trim levels. Though this starts to get into the BTO/BTS conversation being had elsewhere.

Molle Panels or Storage Tie Point in the Sides/Top of the Frunk

For me, the frunk is going to end up storing the items I want to always be in the truck but won't regularly use. Think first aid-kit, tire repair kit, recovery gear, air line kit for the compressor, etc. I would love to be able to secure these to the sides and/or lid of the frunk to keep them...

Rock Slider/Side-step Mounting Points on the Frame

Please incorporate threaded mounting points in the frame to allow for high-strength, bolt-on rock sliders and steps.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Stellantis across the board, most likely. My Pacifica does the same thing when I have a loose grip or just keeping it steady by holding the wheel at 8 o'clock. The most annoying part is when it whines while I'm actively turning the vehicle.

Make optional equipment truly optional, and not trim level dependent.

An additional side of this for traditional manufacturers is quick order packages for dealerships. We won’t have to deal with that, so that’s at least one less barrier to entry for BTO. You’re definitely right in that the packages and trim level options makes things more cost-efficient and...

    Wheel size options

These are going to be heavy vehicles. I doubt the front brake package will allow anything under 18”. Though, I’ve been wrong before.

Make optional equipment truly optional, and not trim level dependent.

If I recall correctly, Dodge occasionally does this. They did it at the end of the hellcat with the jailbreak option.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I’m lazy, and I’ve seen it in other vehicles, albeit only as all windows down. The first thing I do when I get in to drive is drop all of the windows and tilt the sunroof. I’d like to flick one button instead of four, and have only one button press to send them all back up when I park.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

A single, extra button for one-touch up/down of all windows at the same time.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Please this! It’s several shades lighter than the Avocado Green in the poll. Also, please keep the white top option.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Make the TPMS intelligent enough to support being aired down during off-road use.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I meant for the charger to actually have the stronger magnets like MagSafe chargers and accessories utilize. Both the iPhone and Pixel in my household securely attach to my current MagSafe car and home chargers, while the wireless charging tray in the Pacifica struggles to recognize and provide...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

Cross-posting since it fits the modification side as well as the technology side: Pre-outs and infotainment support for add-on subwoofer

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I realize this one is probably a niche thing: Subwoofer pre-amp hookups (rca, 12v 150a power/ground connections, remote turn-on when radio powers up, etc) in the rear cargo area with sub level and high pass filter controls in the infotainment center. Aftermarket radios have had sub pre-outs...
