  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Harbor Freight 25% Off Single Item

Always check their flyers. Nearly every time I checked, there was a 20 or 25% coupon there.

Manual Release Latch/Cable for Traveler Split Tailgate

This is coming from the LR3/LR4 world, but when the electric latch puller on the tailgate eventually fails, there’s not a non-destructive way to access the latch cable to open said tailgate for repairs. It’s made it to the point where there is an aftermarket kit available to install a manual...

Rear Window - Flip Up Option

Maybe I’m missing something, but how would this be more useful than just opening the liftgate? The glass wouldn’t be able to open with the spare carrier locked in place any way (if equipped). With my LR, I routinely just open the liftgate and leave the tailgate closed.

Make sure headlights meet or beat IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus testing standards.

Please make it so the headlights meet or beat the testing standards for IIHS Top Safety Pick+. My Pacifica has the IIHS rating, and the beam pattern is worlds better than the LR and my old 2019 300.

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Dislike from most off-roaders/soft-roaders I've driven: Crazy nose dive under braking.

    Sun screens and visors

Thirding. Especially for the extending piece. At the very least, let them slide along the mounting arm to let me choose the best position. Something to handle the tricky bit behind the rear view mirror would be nice. I also enjoy the sunscreens. It’s nice to try and reduce some of the sun’s...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Google Maps also does this. It’s been extremely helpful more than once. In addition, Google Maps and Apple Maps use current traffic information to give me route options. Also, Google Maps will show a leaf on a the route it calculates to be the most fuel efficient, which isn’t necessarily the...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Same concern about size. My LR3 isn't what I would call nimble, but it maneuvers well enough. Plus, I love the split gate in the back for sitting and relaxing. LR3 L x W x H: 190.9 x 75.4 x 74.5 inches ~5796 curb weight

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

From the off-roader side of things, 2-doors are usually equated to a shorter wheelbase with better breakover angle, better maneuverability, etc.

    Instrument Cluster

Not to the level of precision you're asking for, but the LR3 shows the angle of the front steering in the off-road/nav display area.

It would also be nice if these gauges could indicate C/B danger angles, though I don't really know how much legal would allow for that.

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Dislike: Companies who release an off-road variant but the front bumper hangs so low and hides so much of the tire that the vehicle is defeated by anything more challenging than a maintained forest road.

    Instrument Cluster

It would be pretty awesome for SM to do the CarPlay cluster integration. There are a few high-end companies that keep claiming they are working on the integration. Could you imagine if SM beat them all to market? ?

    Crazy Overlanding Idea

I imagine some companies will eventually make a form-fitting rack and tent similar to what BA Tents made for the LR3/LR4

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Isn't that always the argument they try to push? "Why would you ever want to use your stuff over what we made?" My usual answer to that is that most manufacturers spend the time and money for the first, flashy release and then ignore it in favor of money generators. Apple, Android, and the app...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

If they do decide to eschew CarPlay/AA, there better be a strong software side of the house integrating common music streaming services, onX, GPS mapping services, etc. All of which should be able to sign into our existing accounts. I don't want to have to manage synchronizing addresses, etc...

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

If you could make a truck that size weigh less than a Mini Cooper.....?️ Personally, I'd be pleasantly surprised if it manages to come in under 6k.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

From what I remember, they have an internal (cabin) and external (engine bay) harness that those buttons control. Anything pulling decent power should use that as a signal wire to control a relay that passes the full amps. Additionally, I believe it was possible to program the buttons to be...
