  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I also think the Gravity looks too close to a minivan for anyone to get excited about. I think the Air looks nice - but to your point very expensive for a sedan. Especially when you can get the high-end Tesla Model 3 for ~$15k less than the base Air (not to mention legacy OEM offerings). I...

    R2 Launch Watch

I can kind of understand if someone is leasing an R1, because then Rivian can probably flip that to another buyer. But why they'd care about someone with a Bolt lease is beyond me?

    FM Radio

I never would have considered that a standard FM radio might not be included in a car, but then apparently the R2 doesn't have one: https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/r2-launch-watch.7553/post-84569 I still like listening to my local stations & really don't want to have to...

    FB find of the day

The more pics I see of OG Scouts, the more I like the two-tone roof extending to the body. I can see why that's not possible based on the concept cars having a single back panel, but it would be another fun wink to the past.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yeah, the range, durability/dependability, tech + physical, styling, etc. is what attracted me to the cars (Traveler specifically) and until they tell us different I assume that hasn't changed. Which is why I have to nitpick about things like steering wheel shape. Hahaha

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yeah, I think a flat bottom would be an easier transition maybe? Definitely looks less disruptive to the steering habits I've formed over 30 years! I think it's the flat top AND flat bottom that makes it seem like it will be a strange experience. There's been very little I've disliked about...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I mean, even a normal u-turn will require some respin to get back to neutral - heck, a left or right turn through an intersection can too. Unless my 2014 Dodge Dart isn't considered "newer" anymore? Hahaha Looking at one of the last images in the set (link), it seems like you could squeeze it...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

One thing that popped-up again for me, after seeing an IG post yesterday (link), is the steering wheel shape. And I found a few other discussions that have all since quieted, so figured I'd try & get some activity here. The Squircle shape concerns me as someone who has only had fully circular...

This doesn't *appear* to be behind a paywall, but it's possible that my browser is lagging & the lockout hadn't loaded (lol): https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/car-design-too-much-tech-scout-motors-1235560715/

    Scout Gift "Unboxed"

Yep - was in my mailbox. Like @cyure said above, the only clue on the outside was the Charlotte return address.

    R2 Launch Watch

OK - I could see the benefit of a glare reducer. Using the back-up cam in my Dart is difficult sometimes & trying to find the right spot/angle to create shade with my had can be a bit silly. hahaha

    R2 Launch Watch

I don't even have a screen protector or case on my phone - which my friends think I'm insane for - never even considered one might be needed on a car's screen.

    R2 Launch Watch

Agreed. Would definitely be surprising to get only black for the interior based on the variations we've seen in the concepts.

Not gonna lie - I like the front end of this. The recessed lights remind me of 80s/early 90s Camaros which I have an irrational love of.

I've set my Siri to have an Irish accent. Hahaha

    FB find of the day

Surprised someone didn't share these interiors from FB & IG before me! Also, this comment - not sure if this was confirmed already or if we had just been assuming?

Between the AI hallucination image at the top and that strange mistake, I stopped reading. hahaha

Scout Concepts are coming home April 18-20, 2026

I really wish auto paint was as easy to mix up as house paint - it's honestly surprising to me that you can't add pigments to a base & apply. Especially if you're doing a DTC model & your buyers are customizing a vehicle & prepared to wait. Maybe you don't have thousands of gradations like a...
