  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

Just in case you are not aware - an "RV hookup" is just a 50 amp NEMA 14-50 plug, which is the same plug used by level-2 EV chargers. If you have him install an EV rated outlet (just a few dollars more than a standard NEMA 14-50 outlet), you can use those outlets for both the RV and for EV...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

The brief description looks fine, but at that price you'll want to make sure of a couple things: Make sure the line is wired into the panel with an appropriate circuit breaker. The breaker should stay off until the other end is hooked up. It says installed at a customer specified location; if...

Heat Pump / Pure BEV / Winter Performance (and Battery Chemistry)

I don't see anything official on the Scout Motors FAQ about what battery chemistry they are using, but Scott mentioned the battery chemistry during his interview with Jay Jeno. Here is a quote from an Inside EVs article about it:

Heat Pump / Pure BEV / Winter Performance (and Battery Chemistry)

I have a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5. It has a heat pump for cabin heating. It has resistance heating for the front seats and steering wheel (with separate temperature controls).

    Scout delayed??

Can I post this on a couple of other forums? It would be super cool to overload the AI slop generators with an article like this. But, I need to change one thing. It should be "...Sarah Conner, a single mom, survival enthusiast and early reservation holder..." 😁

Scout Concepts in Blythewood, South Carolina, April 20, 2026

So, visitors will get to see the new training center in addition to the concepts. Nice! I really wish I could attend. :(

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

Really, you think having those two prototypes is not helping their cause? As of April 2026 they have over 150,000 reservations (source). How many reservations do you think they would have without those prototypes to show off?

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I am not arguing against this specific engine, but I wanted to point out that a "flat torque curve at low RPM" is meaningless for the Harvester. As a generator in an EREV, it will run at a constant RPM to maximize efficiency. The engine doesn't need to run at different RPMs. From what I have...

I've found something better than Scout

Looks like I will be cancelling my Scout Terra reservation, this new offering is just too cool. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1DaG5ZwhLL/

    Girl Scout

@cyure has staked her claim for the Scout Traveler off-road appearance package (with rear tire carrier) on her future "pavement princes". And this community supports her choice 100% (right everyone?).

    Girl Scout

So, what sort of customization do you have on your wish list? I know there are a lot of people here that plan to go with a full off-road build (I'm looking at you @cyure ). As a steel worker, I'm guessing you are aiming more for a work-truck build? In an ideal world where you could get factory...

Long-Term Paint Protection: PPF, Coatings, and Launch Availability

If you are handy, you can apply PPF yourself. There are several online shops that sell clear wrap material for DIY installation. You don't need pre-cut templates, you cut the wrap to shape as part of the install. The shops also sell the wrap in colors and patterns, so you can add stripes or a...

New Scout Video: Forging the Future - The Sound Of Scout

Why restrict them to vehicle color? Make them all available as options for the driver to pick.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I want the door locks on the Scout to sound like the classic, multi-layered steel laminated padlock used in the 1967 Master Lock commercial. Youtube link to the commercial for you younglings that don't know your classic TV trivia.

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

In a recent interview (The Drive, March 6th) Scott Keogh said that "we’ve got some solutions on that front" when asked about the tow rating being cut in half for the EREV. So, it seems like the 5K limitation of the EREV is no longer true.
