  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

[Terra] Double cab with a 6.5' bed

I look at it this way....what do you see on the road the most? Double cabs with shorter beds. That's what sells. That's what the majority of people want. That's what gets manufactured. Perhaps in the future if the market and the consumer base wants a smaller cab and bigger bed SM will have the...

    Easily Removable generator/range extender

Interesting idea. I could see some use cases for it but not for the average consumer. My mind also automatically goes to "not common" which means more R&D to make that work, which equals more money and the consumer pays for that. Keep the engine onboard and R&D lower and consumer costs lower.

    tonneau cover standard?

Another thing to keep in mind is cost. When you start adding things like a tonneau cover as a standard item it will raise the cost so maybe leaving it as an option is a better idea.

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

This is a point I keep coming back around to. Also SM hasn't given battery details which keeps the door open for different battery types as time progresses.

    Want to Know

Please please PLEASE let one of those initial 16 places be Vegas since I'm only a couple hours drive away! I'd love to get a hands on with one before actually having to configure and order. With how active SM is with the community I find it hard to believe they won't do something like this.

Any official pictures &/or renderings w/a Receiver Hitch?

Will "offer" them....so perhaps it'll be a package/option and not standard?

    Scout Recon? Scout Patrol? ...

Yes! I had my Bronco Raptor off-road the next day I got it. If it’s meant to go off-road I’ll take it regardless of the cost.

    Electrochromatic Panoramic Sunroof?

While I love glass roofs I live in the desert and all it does is heat up the interior, I don't care what kind of coating is on it, that sun is brutal. I had a Tesla Model Y and the first thing I did was get a shade for it. I'd also be fearful of cracks and chips so for me it'll be the standard roof.

    Confirmed….Scout using Rivian’s software…

:ROFLMAO: And then there's all the testing that needs to be done....or SHOULD be done.

Stunning! Can I ask what markers you use? I'm assuming not Crayola markers....are there specialty markers for this type of sketching?

List Your 10 Favorite Things About the New Scouts

I tried to come up with a top ten list of favorite things but was only able to come up with two things: Traveler Terra Okay seriously though here's what I came up with: Off-road oriented: Solid rear axle, lockers, sway bar disconnect, 35s from factory but can fit 37s Scout "swoop" on the rear...

Terra- Remove LED trim light on Tailgate

I will not complain about lights. I love lights. In pictures and videos I like all the lights they've put on them thus far. I wonder which will make it to production though...I hope all of them, interior, emblems, all of it.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

You are correct....this is important...are we talking donut holes only or do we get the rest of the donut too?

    iOS/Android app? - Forum Suggestion

That would be nice, but not sure for what purposes unless to better integrate the community with the Scout vehicles?

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I hear ya. We would to the WA-UT road trip every year for over a decade, now that we just moved down here we do the UT-WA road trip a couple times a year for family visits. YES...getting the time off work can be a hassle for most for sure, that's probably the biggest barrier actually lol.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

I wonder how many pages this thread will get up to before more details emerge on the Harvester.

    Missing the mark

There's still a lot of info needed on when/how the Harvester engine will recharge the battery but my understanding currently is that you won't need to sit and wait for the engine to recharge the battery. You refuel and off you go like in a normal ICE vehicle. What we DON'T know how is much...
