  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    R2 Launch Watch

I guess for me I am part of the abnorm. I rarely ever go into my UI for any of those adjustments and if I do I just double pull on the gear selector, go into self drive and then its twice as safe because now you have 3 pairs of eyes on the road instead of just one. I pretty much never use the...

    R2 Launch Watch

The strength of your opinion is very interesting. I would be curious to hear what your use and length of experience of the aforementioned UI's and how do you find the ergonomics and UI to be so bad?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Ummm....I don't even know where to begin with this. Like literally, I don't know if I should push or pull, or twist or a combination of all that at once. Wow!

    R2 Launch Watch

Valid reasoning. But I think as usual Tesla, (and soon with Rivian Assistant) once again has the best solution and that's just tell the car what you want and it will do it. One thing that has been made perfectly clear is SM definitely could not build their vehicles and satisfy the entirety of...

    My Scout Travels

Welcome to the community! This is the type of story SM loves and what will make the next vehicles from Scout just as loved as the originals were.

    R2 Launch Watch

I understand there are people that prefer to have buttons still to each their own. However, saying that the UX in the R2 is going backwards compared to the Mustang is like saying you prefer a BlackBerry over an iPhone 17 Pro lol! R2 has some of the most advanced UX when it comes out. One thing...

    R2 Launch Watch

No manual vent adjustment. You still have to go through the infotainment. However, you can control temp and fan speed from the steering wheel in R2.

    R2 Launch Watch

As I have mentioned previously I currently own a R1T as well and have a reservation on the R2. I was going to actually switch to a R2 while I wait on the Scout, but from SXSW there was mention of Gen 3 R1's breaking cover by EOY. Undoubtedly they are going to have most if not all the goodies...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Understandable, I have a glass roof and wish I could open it lol! I think for all us considering it though, the main concerns are safety, leakage, and maintenance with the cabana top.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'll go ahead and go on record now saying that if Terra gets a cabana top I will most likely be switching to it, for the exact reason you said having that with the drop rear window would be awesome!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

You have clearly never driven one during the summer in GA sitting in Atlanta traffic lol! No seriously, verts are fun but for me personally I don't leave near the beach (unfortunately) and IMO that's where I think its best to have them. But looking at the Cabana top it could potentially provide...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Look verts and open tops are nice as long as you're moving. Soft tops are noisy and ugly when up, and try sitting in traffic in one when its 90 plus degrees out. You'll hate your life then lol! Removal tops are cool too, but removing them and having to store them without damaging them is a PITA...

I currently have a Traveler reserved too, but CP1 said the Traveler may be at the location on Sunday if it makes it back from CA in time so there is absolutely a chance to see it.

    Girl Scout

Welcome to the Community! Love everything about this, and I think the fact that Scout has attracted a steelworker is right on mark with this incredible legendary brand. Heck who knows, maybe even a PR shoot with you and your Scout at work. We all know how much SM loves a good background story...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Agreed! Having worked in the auto industry for quite some time most people don't want to replace the batteries in the their car, seem to think they are going to last indefinitely, and then get mad when they do have to have the battery replaced. Regarding the 12v in my Gen 2 Rivian, I had to...

I was literally considering booking a trip to AZ, but something kept telling me as soon as I do (and knowing my luck lol) an announcement will come about a "local" event. I'm so excited!

    Front Bench Seat Safety

Hello and Welcome! Safety is at the top of Scout's priority list and I have no doubt they will meet or even exceed current safety standards. If fact, they may be going as far as help rewriting them for the bench seat "comeback tour" lol Regarding your question I would say there will most...

    Scout delayed??

Speaking of sadly, my Rivian is currently in the shop after a collision, (minor thankfully) but I was given a GV70 to drive in the meantime and I hate it! Sure the luxury inside is nice, but I can't stand driving an ICE vehicle anymore. They are so slow to accelerate, watching a gas gauge drop...
