  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    R2 Launch Watch

From what I understand, once you get the invite to order, it remains active. So theoretically, you get the availability to order, but want to wait, you can. Makes sense since not even all the options are available right now. So if you want to wait for Coastal Cloud interior for example, the...

    R2 Launch Watch

Not sure still. All will depend on timing. Ioniq lease is up Dec 2027. So we have to find something new by then, or potentially extend up to 6 months if they allow. R2 is certainly high on our list. I reserved very late, so not sure if timing will work out in our favor there. I still love the...

Maybe? I don't recall exactly how much, I think at least a little bit.

Glass. And doesn't have a built in shade or dynamic ability. Definitely a downside in a sunny climate (like CO for me). Going to be a lot of aftermarket tinting or shade solutions I'm guessing.

That's the configuration I'd like to go with too, minus the accessories. Only one I think is critical is all weather mats.

Haha, the great thing about design is it's subjective! I'm just really not a fan of the newer BMW grill approach on all their cars.

Range stats on the new iX3 are looking really tempting. Too bad it's ugly as heck. https://www.carscoops.com/2026/05/bmw-ix3-pricing-range/

Oh, and a pet peeve complaint about both Rivian models - they have the pop out cup holder trays even in the front. I think that's just a terrible design. It feels so frail and fiddly. I always have some kind of beverage with me, and not having just permanent built in cupholders in the console...

    R2 Launch Watch

Went to the R2 block party in Denver today. I really liked it. Got to sit in a model, take some measurements and look at the R1 again to compare. It reinforced for me that the R1 (and likely the Scout) are probably bigger vehicles than we need. Biggest priority for me was determining if we can...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

I was very wary of high regen/1 pedal driving. But now that I'm driving the Ioniq on a daily basis, I have gotten used to it so quickly. I will say, I only prefer actual 1 pedal in more "constant flow" scenarios. I also just haven't quite figured out the touch on it for parking/slow maneuvering...

I RSVP'd to Denver! Looking forward to checking out the interior space of the R2. The small cargo volume numbers behind the rear seats worry me for my needs, so it'll be great to get eyes on it to either definitely rule it out or confirm I want to continue the wait and see approach in the...

    R2 Launch Watch

I ended up putting in a reservation yesterday after reviewing all the info. I test drove an R1S last fall and liked a lot about it, just wasn't looking to spend $100k on a vehicle when I was anticipating a Scout coming. With the shifting timelines and my Ioniq lease ending in Dec '27, the R2...

So cool. I've never even thought about putting a stick with an electric motor, that would be super fun.

Yep, it's pretty ridiculous. And you have to take what they get in, or risk losing your place in line. And potentially be on waitlists (paid or unpaid) at multiple different dealerships to up your chances. Went through the whole thing with the new Land Cruiser when it was announced. Actually...

As ugly as Toyota's EVs have been, this is going to pique my interest, even if it doesn't hit home from a design standpoint. May have to consider it competition to my Scout purchase, depending on specs, pricing and timing. Although I REALLLLLY don't want to deal with Toyota's ridiculous...

    EREV initial release only?

So far, so good! Amazing how quickly I became used to seeing a gas station and checking quickly if I need to fill up.

    EREV initial release only?

2 year, so done Dec 2027. Always knew that was going to be a bit tight, but the price was right and as others have mentioned, there may be an option to see if I can extend for a little longer. But no guarantees.
