    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    A lot will also depend on accessories and wheel/tire packages. We have an i4 and going from 19s to 20in wheels was a 20 mile range drag.     Absent an understanding of specs this is simply conjecture. I would hands down take the BEV unless the efficiency doesn’t match the stated specs. I hope Scout isn’t taking the preorder percentage as gospel because I suspect a portion of those preorders would change once more details are available.

    23mpg is attrocious for an EV. Why carry around the battery at all. Just go for a gas truck with cylinder deactivation and mpg will be higher

    I would rather see them add a bigger battery and get more efficiency out of the electrical system as opposed to focusing on increasing the tank size. 90 miles is not attractive for 60% battery use. Those looking for a larger gas tank should just buy an ice vehicle. 60% battery should at minimum...

    That’s my concern w the Bev only. Have an EQS where I can drive at “overtaking speed..cough cough” for the majority of my travel and it gets 270-300miles on the highway with a very aerodynamic shape,a 108 kw battery, and a sailing mode that doesn’t drag the motor as regen can be disconnected...

    Not really. We are due. Mother Nature has her own sense of timing and we haven’t done ourselves any favors.

    As a BEV owner I concur with the one caveat being we need to see what the real world efficiency numbers are gonna be. Either Terra or Traveler is about as aerodynamic as a brick so if you end up getting 200 highway miles of range that’s a problem. If the numbers are decent (3mil/kwh)on the...

    Definitely makes the EV only option more attractive if they can get the efficiency right.

    Unlikely to be available at this price point. Will start in high end Mercs, BMWs, and Porsches first.
