  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Include a Monroney Sticker and Build Sheet

Please include a physical Monroney sticker and build sheet with the purchase of the vehicle. Also please build and host a publicly-searchable database that includes every option from the factory so people can plug in a VIN and know exactly what they’re buying when they buy used.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

I hope Scout goes with a traditional Monroney Sticker and hosts a VIN-based lookup of the factory build sheet instead of hiding the digital sticker in the vehicle’s system. It would be fine to have that too. But there should be a more reliable way to pull the build sheet when shopping for used...

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

Will ai slop be obsolete before the Scout is available to buy is the real question. Today one can go spend $75k on a vehicle with technology that is objectively terrible. The brakes can barely stop the vehicle. The subframe barely holds it together. The fuel evaporates as it’s being pumped into...

They absolutely have major issues. They have volumetric changes during manufacturing that pulls the solid electrolytes away from the electrodes and renders them unusable. They have major issues with stability. They have major issues in lots of places. This is one set of reasons that we won't...

SSBs are in use in very small, high-criticality devices such as pacemakers, other implantable devices, stationary devices in remote places, and in some drones. Samsung is talking about being first to market with cell phone SSBs. Phones sit in an odd space where they generate high margins...

Note: There’s almost nowhere in Virginia that’s farther than 50 miles of driving (along roads, not straight-line) from at least three DCFCs. The mountains between WV and VA are one such place, which is, I imagine, a popular off-roading area (but I’ve never been so don’t know). And down by...

I wanted to be thorough. Assuming 55 mph average speed on mountain roads. Trip out: It will probably take a total of no more than 5 hours with two stops. Trip home: It’ll probably take no more than 5 hours and one stop.

Disclaimer: There are so many variables that go into this that I’d be much more comfortable with knowing more about the specific route, climate/weather/elevation changes/etc during the trip, and what ever other variables you know ahead of time like speed, etc. You can also plug your specifics...

I think the world will see SSBs in high-end EVs by 2030. They’ll be in other EVs by 2035. If the tariffs and other anti-competition protectionism remains a policy in the US, we in the US won’t see them except for the most expensive EVs until 2040 or so.

I think you're saying that you were told all four trims would have 10k towing? This would be a fairly rare capability among SUVs. There are three modern SUVs that have 10k+ towing capacity in the US. The Hummer BEV is the SUV with the highest towing capacity at 10,300 pounds. The Jeep Wagoneer...

Don't forget that nearly all of the trustworthy SSB development and announcements are coming from China. Some from Korea. The US companies are making claims that don't add up. Even if SSBs show up in vehicles in the next four or five years, they will likely not make it to the US except in the...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

I would much prefer to support a company like Scout or Rivian. But Rivian is going the wrong way with their UX and Scout’s not here yet. Fortunately we don’t have to replace the Mustang just yet. Still shopping. That said, If I had the money to do the import AND pay for the safety upgrades so...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

One of the reasons my 78-yr-old Aunt bought a Chevy Bolt is because it didn’t have any of that nonsense. She doesn’t want to drive a tablet. She wants to drive a battery-electric vehicle. It’s frustrating that we have all this extra nonsense pushing potential purchasers away from EVs because...

100%. I want to adjust my vents or air temperature or turn on the turn signals or just drive my darned vehicle without stopping my audiobook or waking my sleeping passengers or interrupting my family.

Probably not. In fact, this ai slop might make us consider dropping Rivian from the list for cross-shopping if it can’t be disabled. We certainly would not consider paying for ai slop.

I think the difference between private investors and an IPO is that the responsibility (or rather the perception of the responsibility) seems to change from building a fantastic product to meeting public investor demands of profitability by the quarter.
