  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Noticed some parks trying to increase revenues. They are putting pay charging stations in (while probably banning site charging).

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Got a golf cart while I was waiting. Golf carts are about the only current BEV's I am interested in. Upgraded the batteries, motor, and controller already. Upgraded suspension is still sitting in a crate because I needed new leaf bushings first - finally ordered those, and replacement leafs.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I have enjoyed built in Nav in my vehicles - but the problem is the upkeep. Most companies want a fairly healthy price to get map updates, and even then I doubt many built in navigation systems allow for real time traffic updates. I really liked the system on my 2015 VW Golf TDI. I liked it...

You can judge a Scout by its color

I guess some people like white, but to me it was the ultimate "gray" vehicle in Texas. If you wanted something that could not be uniquely identified by color - that would just be one in the crowd. You got a white truck. It was like white cargo vans - most common color, least memorable. It...

fleet truck white - not really a fair comparison.

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

Don't have a 30 gallon tank, but pretty sure my model truck came standard with a 28. They know one of the major reasons people by heavier trucks is to tow - and mileage when towing sucks. On a long road trip - I could beat 500 miles a tank w/o the trailer, was lucky to tag 350 (and 300 was...

A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

Not going to say I have acquired digital media illegally - but have MANY years ago did take the time to digitize 15 years of my CD collection and 15 years of my wife's CD collection. Never got around to digitizing our vinyl... But honestly, it would take days to listen to everything before it...

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

There are questions. Will the hype become reality, when, and how long will ramp up take before it becomes price competitive. Finally, what is the motivation of the person spreading the gospel. The truth as I see it: We don't know the first. The second is currently at least 2 years out - but...

A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

Honestly - don't need it. Digital media is easier - either via connecting cell phone, or various type of memory card/stick. That said, I stream almost 100% (well, 6 months ago I downloaded and played - which solves the connection issue, but have not needed to do it for months).

    Torn

I think I watched a Youtube video this week mentioning that VW should be getting SS test cells soon. The real problem is with ramped production, the first several years will most likely have massive early adopter premiums (they will be only in ultra high end vehicles). When/if they do meet...

    A less screen, focused layout

There could be some interest - but honestly I like the screen for navigation and it is almost necessary by law now to use any common automotive phone feature. But sure - if they would want a very stripped version (no power windows, locks, no radio, etc..., might as well remove it too. But I...

    Texas Scouts

I don't know if it has changed, but in the past, you had to ordered the Tesla online and it was shipped in from out of state. Initially it was shipped to your door - I think they can now ship to service center. The funny part, even if the Tesla is built in Texas, it had to be shipped in from...

    Under Front Seat Vents

Will joke. Back seat of my Ford is a bit cluttered. Had to pull something out of the footwell today - it was cold (not quite ice cold, but cold. Think I might start leaving a 2lt coke there.

TFL dumping on Scout in there latest video

Crystal balls are always fuzzy. But it is important to note the why's and who benefits. Many people waiting for Scouts are avoiding purchasing another vehicle in the meantime. So saying the Scout will be delayed has the potential to cause reservation holders to give up and become clients for...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It depends on the company I guess. No problem custom ordering my Jeep, was going to custom order my Ford, but they got it down to one option I did not want - but could have in 4 days. With VW, I punted and just took the closest I could find in my 1/2 of Texas - a couple options I was...

    Phone cooler

Kind of funny - my Ford has this nice little spot to lay a phone - but it is on the dash and in the sun. If you put your phone there it will overheat and turn off even without charging.

I've tried to keep up with the Donut Lab reports. So far, the general feel is high skepticism, but nothing is technically been proved. They have been careful with which tests have been performed - and while I don't think they have hit Donut Lab's claims, they have not been actually bad either...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

If you saw 100 Broncos - I don't want to guess the number of Jeeps you saw. Of course, Aggies might be smart enough not to buy Stellantis. Austin is definitely full of Jeeps. I was surprised they did not litter San Marcos as much (Texas State I guess now, while it will always be Southwest...

Saw that picture on Facebook a few days ago (probably from the Scout Facebook group). Scout Motor Sales LLC got me wondering a bit - but with AI now, no use staring to guess if you can see if it is a Photoshop. Apparently Scout Motors Sales LLC is a thing though - they have been mentioned in...
