  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I’m now getting your handle. Purplesnow like purple rain but you’re in MN. So snow. Prince is from Minnesota. Vikings are purple. Well played.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I like the first one too. I saw a purple 1st gen Tacoma today and thought it looked good.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I’m a huge fan of BMW water blades.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I knew this was coming. Take whatever metric you want, the BEV will still be significantly more efficient and cheaper to operate. Now, for those that want or need the Harvester, great! Get one! It will still be more efficient that most any other vehicle its size or capability.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I am sure plenty of people will be amazed by 29.8. But, that sucks by comparison to the BEV.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

In my current vehicle, a BMW iX, I am averaging 3.4 m/kWh. 3.4 miles per kWh (mi/kWh) is equivalent to approximately 114.6 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent). Furthermore, if I had to charge (fill it up) from 0-100%, it would be $14.74 9off peak)-$30.56 (peak hours) on level 2 charging.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

In case you have not noticed, gas prices are on the rise. The Scouts are expected to get somewhere around 2.5 miles/kWh. A vehicle achieving 2.5 miles per kWh (mi/kWh) is equivalent to approximately 84.25 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent).

    A Gift From Scout Motors

Just got home and the traveler poster arrived. Unfortunately, it’s damaged. The envelope was pretty eaten up at the corner and it made some significant wear on the poster inside. Instant character and patina I guess.

They totally do. There is no way it is coincidence.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Like weed out the colors in the first poll that are just absolutely not going to make it? Or, just a new set of colors to poll?

    Scout Color Poll #1

That's not my taste, but it is a good color. I would call that a mustardy take on Buckskin.

    Re-think Headlight Design

I could see something like the horizontal slot grills being a good version to lean on for inspiration. Especially since the headlights are all horizontal. The grill could give the appearance of holes and depth with texture and color. I don’t think I would want anything thing other than what...

    Re-think Headlight Design

Agree with this. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but yes it’s Jeepy. Outer bezels are great! How many different grilles were available on the Scout IIs over the years? I’m sure one of the original Scout gurus on here knows. I was a bunch anyway.

    Re-think Headlight Design

There is certainly an opportunity for options and aftermarket. I could see something like this becoming available. Good job!
