  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

They've seemed to have "issues" with that Gen 2 from the start, and almost every video it appears in, "My Gen1 R1T handles/feels/sounds better." So I'm not discounting its issues, just that the Launch R1T they have seems to be more reliable, but maybe that Gen2 was just part of a bad batch

Count me in! 😹 I do regular EV explanations when out working, I’d happily do it for Scout

There’s only one button I think is unnecessary, but that’s been well discussed, and even then I’m not opposed to options. If I’m at a campsite I can see myself opening the door and using the physical buttons to open the Frunk, if an external is non existent or otherwise disabled, but if I arrive...

I’ll give an example, it will sound contrived and have other solutions based upon n vehicle (phone, fob, external) but just bear with me, as I’ve dealt with this. Parked in a lot, you go in the store and return, someone wasn’t very considerate and parked a little to close, this vehicle has no...

I’m not sure how I feel about this, I’ve not given that much thought to the charge port location, but last time I was at a Supercharger I could back in my Bolt and reach the front for easier exit because of the parking lot layout, but while I don’t tow very often I’m not sure how happy I would...

The screen isn’t unnecessary, it’s an additional option. If it can be opened via an app on your phone the vehicle is also capable of using software based interface to open/close. This gives options, not like your passenger will be able to flip to that screen and open the frunk while driving. I’m...

I'll stand by my previous statement though, if you can control it in the app (as shown in a previous demo) there's no reason they can't have it on the screen. A button on the driver's area is great, but what if you want your passenger to open the the hatches for you? It would be easier for them...

It should be on the fob, but it should also be on the screen, and on the app. It shouldn't be like the Buick we have (fob and deck only)

In the same build of the software, the harvester fuel door is still there I know it's blurry, but you can make it out. All in all though, this is probably just working through things as far as the software goes, I feel like the "Exterior" tab should have a frunk toggle, but that's non-existant

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Genuinely hope this forum can keep this sense of community after official launch, Once people start driving Scouts, wether they have praise or grievance they’ll find there way here to talk about things and that’s when sense of community will be at risk, because people will have scouts and the...

Looking a little more at the screen, it's definitely not for the outlets, but it's strange that all other controls are for lights, nothing for the frunk, or harvester door, which makes it harder to think it's just for opening the charge port

Do you know if the thin red line around the outlets was backlit? it's hard to tell with the light above it? I know the Charge port on my car glows when open, but that was an upgraded option

Try to see it this way. The current reservations lean harvester, but where are people getting their info about these upcoming vehicles (not the reservation numbers) from? Realistically, probably YouTube videos or summarized articles. All these videos, and hosts (Scout included), focus on the...

That's the odd part, the harvester fuel door is still in the front right (passenger) on the animated screen, but it doesn't have a button, so it's odd that the charge port does. Have we seen significant lighting in the charge port?

    Bench or Bucket Seating Poll

I fell under qualified to vote here. I think my actual decision will be made after I can see them in person. I really would only want the bench seat for the dog since he loves to be right in the middle, but that's only a few dozen times a year, and even my partner said I should go with a full...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

A reasonable opinion, and honestly, a likely to happen, but as an EV driver, I'm waiting for my Scout BEV Terra to replace my Bolt. I have no interest in an intermediate lease, nor in getting a cheap gasser for when I need a truck (I already have access to one, but it's 2 hours to collect and...

I also noticed this in the video, the screen Demo is for the Harvester Terra, but has a little fuel pump icon where the charge door is. Could this mean the door is powered in some way (telling it to open before you exit the cabin), or is it for the external outlets that accompany it?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Not a bad video, but every single video I see just makes me wish someone was more focused on the EV variant. I know it's probably not as much to talk about as the EREV with "new tech", but still. Unless it's 200-300 Miles on battery and the rest on gas, I really can't see the appeal of the...

    Off-topic stuff…

They probably avoided the name because it sounds more feminine and small, and wouldn't appeal to the "modern consumer", it could make a great name for an eventual R2 competitor though
