  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I'm going to try to gas light myself about batteries and range

Have yall seen the new “CLICKS Phone”? It’s a throwback to the BlackBerry form factor. Definitely interesting if you aren’t a spec chaser.

I'm going to try to gas light myself about batteries and range

Still chugging along. I keep the MagSafe battery with me at all times now, but only need to use it once a month. When I am at work I started charging it at my desk in the late afternoon for about 15 minutes and it’s usually enough to make it to 1am when I usually fall asleep. Typically...

Traveler or Terra for Road Trips/Daily

I’ll give you my tariff rebate check when that comes 😂

I can be all of those things, and still get myself into the dog house on occasion ;)

Traveler or Terra for Road Trips/Daily

We currently have 4 kids and a 3 bedroom home. As the boys get older they will need their own rooms. I also have a younger sister with special needs. She currently lives with my parents. When they pass away she will be coming to live with us. Hopefully the boys will be able to get established...

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

You also need to do a "BMC" and cut part of the frame off at the body mount. You also need to cut and hammer/fold the pinch weld seam. Lifting IFS Toyotas is pretty involved. My 1997 Land Cruiser was the last "Real Land Cruiser" the US got. It had a solid front axle and 35"s fit bone...

Traveler or Terra for Road Trips/Daily

I floated the idea of tearing the garage down and building a 1,200sq-ft garage/shop/loft apartment, and the wife seems to be very interested, so I think I will just need to stick to one for now. Its going to cost around $100k to build. Our current driveway is single lane and the garage is...

First Responders, Military and Veterans Program

I would also like to see discounts on accessories if possible. Obviously a lot of stuff is up in the air, but normally these discount programs only apply to new vehicle purchases.

Traveler or Terra for Road Trips/Daily

Im equally torn, but dumber than you because I reserved BOTH! lol I want a truck to haul dirt bikes and do Home Depot runs, but the 5.5ft bed would (possibly) only fit one bike with the tailgate closed. The Terra will be less capable Offroad so that is also a consideration. Its towing capacity...

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

The hype is waning for me, but the interest is still there.

Can a single dirt bike fit diagonally with the bed closed?

Thank you. I suppose I could air it down if I needed to?

Can a single dirt bike fit diagonally with the bed closed?

I know the Terra has a 5.5 ft bed so it can’t transport a 90” dirt bike front to rear, but I was curious if it can fit diagonally with the front tire in front of a wheel well and the rear tire behind the other one? I’m still interested in a Terra with the Moonlander X camper shell on the back...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

The thing is, VW already had self driving technology, even on lower trim vehicles. They are continuing to advance their technology like any other company would, so there is a strong chance Scout already had a foundation to build off of by having access to VW’s intellectual properties and...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I will take mine to places like Engineers Pass, Ophir Pass, Blackbear Pass, Moab, Padre Island National Seashore, etc. But playing in rock gardens is a whole different ball of wax. There are some people who easily have over $100k wrapped up in their builds and wheel the crap out of them. $88k...

November 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

Holy crap! I used to work in commercial refrigeration and have never seen a heat pump that big. That is quite the beast. I was involved in selling several chiller plants for commercial customers like convention centers and malls. That thing dwarfs all of them.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I just see this referenced too often by people. I can technically go end to end on the Rubicon trail in my Lexus, but that would be me taking all the bypasses and spending hours stacking rocks at each challenging area. It would probably look like a crumpled beer can underneath it too. As much...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Not buying that. Looks great on paper though. There are plenty of vehicles that can bypass the main obstacles on the trail. It’s disingenuous to say “A Rivian can do the Rubicon Trail.” That’s like saying you went to Disneyworld but hung out in the parking lot the whole time.
