  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

Wow, I will echo the others and say that I am sorry. Nothing like a trial by fire. ABRP is good stuff and should steer you well. You can always slow down a bit if it looks on the edge. If you're mostly sticking to interstates you should have no issues finding charging. Keep us posted.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

There has been no "pivot." The vehicles that were shown at the launch were luxury vehicles. They have been absolutely consistent in what they have shown. Yes, it is an antidote to the "everything on a screen" disease that is permeating cars these days and is exactly why I am here - I do not...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I don't know of any routing algorithm that specifically optimizes for stopping at mealtime (you'd have to tell it what time you eat each meal as everyone is different). In the Tesla, you can click (err touch) any supercharger and it will tell you what amenities are nearby. Plus you can always...

A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

Don't get me wrong. I am all for owning content that you have paid for. I still have all my CDs boxed up and sitting in my climate-controlled attic. We also love watching our Blu-Ray DVDs. My point was that since you own the media, rip it into FLAC files, stuff them onto a USB drive, and...

    A less screen, focused layout

Tesla disables Youtube and other video/game apps on the front screen when the vehicle is not in Park (rear seat occupants can still watch videos/play games on their screen). It should be simple to also disable the HDMI port unless the vehicle is in Park. Tesla also has USB-C ports in the...

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

Oh good lord. Please stop. SSBs have been 2 years away for at least as long as the 16 years that I have been driving EVs. They remain 2 years away. The only thing that changes are the names of the companies. You are free to do what you want with your money but hanging your hat on SSBs...

A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

Why would you create more plastic waste in the world burning CDs when you can just make playlists of digital media files? We were doing this with Winamp over 30 years ago. And now with lossless compression like FLAC it sounds just as good as a CD - you do realize that CDs are digital right...

    A less screen, focused layout

As with anything, things can be taken too far. Porsche has definitely taken buttons too far: I think Scout is striking the right balance of physical and soft controls. No CD Player please. I am sure they make portable bluetooth versions for the 5 people that want such a thing ;)

    R2 Launch Watch

Obviously Scout will do it however they want, but here is what Tesla has done. When the configurator is ready, they will open it up to groups of reservations based on reservation date. They will already know the initial mix of models (trims, variants, etc) that they want/can produce. So they...

    Torn

I will respectfully disagree. I think the increased chatter is only because you are paying attention to it. I have been reading these exact same stories for over 15 years. Only the names of the companies change. I still believe SSBs have critical stability issues in high vibration...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

I will echo @SpaceEVDriver. Rivian is playing catch-up to Tesla's demise and it will not end well for them. In my MXP Tesla removed every physical button that they could legally remove. It is costing them a 16-year customer. They even removed the button for the glove box. So when my kid...

    Torn

A lot of people are in the same boat. Scout is doing everything they can to increase the payload of the Harvester models. We will have to wait and see where they end up. I will say that you should not worry about Solid State. They are the cold fusion of the battery world. They have...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Do we have any info on what that "Scout Supply Power Station" does? I desperately want a 240V outlet on the Traveler. I understand the space concerns for the outlet so I am fine with it being on some kind of umbilical cord or breakout box. I'm hoping that Power Station could be some kind of...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Nope. Tesla tried this back in the day in order to comply with a CARB mandate. The problem comes down to who owns the battery pack. If I buy the battery pack with the car, then I want my battery pack back when I finish my trip. I don't want someone else's battery that the may have abused...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I'm really getting tired of having the same argument with you. You keep saying that you understand the macroeconomics then you completely ignore them and expect Scout to defy reality. When I speak of anchoring, I am talking about your belief that trucks in 2026 should still cost $40k. Your...

    Bench or Bucket Seating Poll

I loved the bench seat in my 80's truck. I also have 6 seats in my MXP today and a few times per year I need all 6. I expect a nice fold-down armrest for when I don't need all 6 seats.

This! But as we've discussed, there is drama around the Harvester and towing capacity so that's what gets clicks. Nothing has changed on the BEV side so it's not clickbait.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Where's that beating a dead horse emoji? You suffer from something called anchoring. The US spent 40 years in disinflation (1980-2020) but is now in an inflationary regime. You do not have a frame of reference for what that means - you still apply a disinflationary bias to everything you see...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

The Silverado EV is still competitive and AFAIK Chevy intends to keep producing it. Ford's mid-size truck (the R1T is not full size). Cadillac Vistiq, Highlander EV, Volvo EX90, Wagoneer S, MB EQB, Lucid Gravity, Ioniq 9 (same as the EV9 I know). Obviously off-road prowess varies widely...

Design it to last 20 years

The car takes care of itself when it comes to thermal management. If you are able to keep it plugged in when parked it will draw "shore power" as needed to keep itself happy, heating or cooling the battery as required. One infamous story from the old Tesla Roadster days... Tesla would beat...
