  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Concepts in Scottsdale, Arizona, April 25, 2026

I wanna punch someone for leaning on my 10-year old sedan with 100k miles on it, so I know I'm not the right person to run security at a Scout event. Or maybe I am. :ROFLMAO:

    Higher Range

We'll just leave that for the Audi version.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Put her in terms of efficiency, and it counts here. Some people require a LOT of energy usage and create heat (aka being hot) as a byproduct while others have much higher efficiency scores and roll out of bed looking hot, though the latter is more akin to the mythical perpetual motion machine.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Yeah, that's why I was curious about the heat delta earlier. Assuming the drivetrain is at operating temperature, does the quick 3-second burst (then back to cruising speed) really put off that much heat that needs to be cooled or does the mass of the battery/motor/inverter or whatever is...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Helpful! Home inverters got me wondering about this since the baseline draw when idle was higher than I would've expected, but they're not sucking down much power when they're pushing a lot of amperage.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Aside from heat generated, any idea how the efficiency changes at the inverter on low-load vs high-load situations? Obviously, this will vary per manufacturer, but are there any general rules? I'd love to know the delta in heat generated at the battery, motors, etc in your different scenarios.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

General EV question: Is it more efficient to slowly increase your speed to the speed limit, or make a mad dash to your desired speed? Of my ICE vehicles, about 2/3s of them were actually more efficient to accelerate 100% to your intended speed while the other 1/3 are much more efficient to...

    OBD Port

If doing do, please do some research on security measures and implement accordingly. One of my vehicles is easy to steal via OBD2 access because a thief can easily access the port and program a new fob to drive the vehicle with no security measures to prevent such. Thankfully the aftermarket...

I have a very deep hatred of Ford from personal experiences, so I love seeing them shooting themselves in the foot every chance they get!

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I picture a plumbing manifold with @J Alynn's hamster managing the valves... I'm thinking a traditional EV heat pump/battery cooling solution with maybe an extra core for cooling for the Harvester. Much like a normal radiator with an extra core for A/C or automatic transmission cooling...

    Rear Window

I'm used to having the spare mounted directly to the back door with the glass in the door as well. Simple one-step opening, so I suspect all this messing around with glass/hatch, a carrier AND a tailgate will piss me off. Thankfully, I do plan to use the frunk for grocery runs, etc, so that'll...

March 2026 Scout Production Center Update

MOLL is listed on-site at the Scout plant location on Google now, but I highly doubt they're shipping all labor over from Bavaria, so that would definitely make sense. They might've done the layout in Germany, but they usually prefer local installation talent when possible in my experience. I...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I suspect any engine will be optimized for low-end grunt and generator use. I also read it was an existing engine, but when stated, the flat-4 was still in production and has since ended production. Seems easier to me to use an engine initially designed for horizontal use and modify the...

March 2026 Scout Production Center Update

I'm seeing MOLL Automatisierung GmbH doing the assembly line work, which I assume includes the robots, but they might be using Becker as a local source for labor/service/etc.

    I support this idea. 😁

I'm hoping they'll set up a new line for us using the old Porsche tooling.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Can you give us any more information than that? Inline-4? I keep pushing to use a naturally-aspirated version of the MA2.20 or MA2.22 flat-4 from the Boxster/Cayman. They've been discontinued, so the tooling should be cheap, right? Nice flat, torque curve at low RPM, very compact packaging...

    Reservation order

I think they'd announced around 50k preorders in January of 2025, then 130k preorders in October, so you're somewhere in between. Helpful? Probably not... :ROFLMAO:
