  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

IF Rivian put some physical buttons in the R3, I'd definitely be in line for a launch R3X. Buttons are a deal-breaker for me on a vehicle.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Do you just leave a hole in the hood otherwise? A faux vent that could be replaced with the tie downs? Maybe we could mount crosshairs for easier pedestrian targeting? A fold-down windshield anchor on a later remodel with a removable top? I'm perfectly fine losing them. They'll be a pain to...

Would it help if I told you they were strakes for smoothing the airflow and lessening the high pressure area at the windshield cowl, thus improving aerodynamic efficiency?

    FB find of the day

The FJ Cruiser had a rare color like that, Magma. More medium orange than pale, but the pink/red shades were definitely there. It looks okay in pictures, but in person, it's one of the ugliest oranges I've ever seen. As a huge fan of orange vehicles, it really hurt me deep down.

Kill two birds... Mount infrared pods to the hood tie down so you get the bro look while also being able to use them to melt ice/snow off the hood/windshield in the winter. In the summer, you can use them like fast food restaurants do and keep your two-day-old fries warm while you're hanging...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I'm running an 80-gallon heat pump water heater, and it works very well. In the winter, it's still close on capacity since the water coming in from outside is so cold. I'm considering adding a traditional electric water heater as a tempering tank, but hooking an auxiliary inverter output to...

    Cab Bench Seat feature!

I don't care as much about the center console, but I definitely want the outboard positions on the bench seat to be heated and ventilated. I've mentioned it before, but I'm gonna start repeating myself so Scout's designers hear me, much like she-who-shall-not-be named's PBY. :ROFLMAO: Oh...

As someone with two white cars in the garage, I've gotta say that the white Traveler is really boring. I need color in my life!

    Scout Color Poll #1

A warm white/cream color to compliment the warm white LED lighting would look really good if done right.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Please, YES. I abhor red turn signals from a safety perspective, but as usual, the American auto industry is behind the rest of the world in automotive lighting standards.

I was going to ask you about drug use, but couldn't decide if you need them or are already on them... 😁

Cyure has people for that, no need to get her hands dirty. :ROFLMAO:

    Scout Color Poll #1

That got me thinking about what color cars I've had... Yellow School Bus Yellow Orange Red Blue Green Silver Gray Black White The yellows and oranges showed the least dirt, followed by dark gray and then silver. Edit: That got me thinking about brands I've owned. Toyota, Chevrolet, Ford...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

That's really sad. I'm hoping Scout goes more towards the FJ Cruiser color palette and less towards the Buick color palette. You'll occasionally see a white or silver FJ, but mostly you see colors. Even their black had a LOT of colorful flake in it. Still, there was yellow, an admittedly...

Interesting, I thought Toyota typically did the whole Toyoguard thing.

That absolutely makes sense if they're paying Time-of-Use rates to the power company. I've been running the numbers recently around the house and am changing to ToU rates in two weeks because it makes financial sense for us even without batteries, but I'm doing the math to see how adding...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Absolutely, but we'll still be paying that extra ~$5k on Scouts, though thankfully for long-term viability in this case, Scout will be making more money instead of paying a scummy middleman. If Scout is putting out a competitive vehicle at a competitive price to the competition that has...

Very true, that's left a lot of Tesla owners butt-hurt with the wild swings in pricing. While Scout has a solid leadership team in place, I don't expect such from them, but DTC models will also require sales/incentives or varied pricing to combat the ebb and flow of the marketplace. You see it...

I completely missed that as well. Anyone have a link or any idea where that was said?

I don't understand this logic. If you're willing to spend a few hours to pay thousands of dollars less than the average transaction price, why would you want a DTC model where you pay the average price instead?? Sure, it rewards those that aren't willing to wheel 'n deal, but there aren't many...
