  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

One could argue that Rivian is also backed by VW. :ROFLMAO: I wonder how much money VW has sent to Rivian vs Scout thus far...

We could make you fit, but we'd miss you around here. :ROFLMAO: Hopefully Scout finds a little extra space in there as they finalize the design. I was expecting more than some of the recent pictures have been showing.

My Supra likes your post and suggests a 9-band EQ with physical buttons while we're at it. Ignore the dust...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Somehow when a person reads everything on the internet and makes incorrect assumptions, they're a dumbass, but when computers do it, it's groundbreaking and we need to fund more of it. That seems to be what most people see as AI, the popular LLMs out there.

Pictographs can definitely be fun to interpret! Makes you wonder how much of history is wrong, based on people like us translating old pictographs and petroglyphs. :ROFLMAO: I agree with you though, clearly a Scout manifesto of who they're planning on taking out.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Link shows an error on my end, but I'm assuming it's a small inflator. I've got a Milwaukee that I use all the time. This time of year when it can be in the 30's or 90's depending on the day/weather, I adjust my tire pressures a LOT to keep them optimized for handling. Definitely easier than...

Looks like a Roblox Prius or something. Not caring for it at all and I'm a big fan of wedge-shaped cars typically.

Any chance you've got a link? I haven't seen that and can't find it in relation to their beam axle.

    The Start/Stop Button

As a customer for Scout, I want them to succeed so I'm not left with a Fisker Ocean. Appealing to as broad of a market as possible makes good business sense. Making the button programmable should serve the new-to-this-millenium crowd as well as the techies but default the setting to Start/Stop...

Hopefully they don't wrap it in a tinfoil body that gets dented by a squirrel farting nearby.

I'm mostly concerned with the weight of the motor, gears, etc integrated into the solid rear axle. A Ford 9"/Dana 60 isn't light by any means, and motors have come a long way in recent years, so hopefully I'll be surprised.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Hopefully Scout is using standard 6x135 or 6x139.7 wheel bolt patterns with a similar offset and hub bore to other trucks on the market so we have instant wheel options when it hits the market. While I love most of the Scout wheels I've seen, I typically run aftermarket wheels, so it's...

Controlling that much rear unsprung weight is going to a challenge regardless. Assuming a ~300lb-350lb genset on the Harvester, I don't know that the sprung weight will be too different than the EV model, but with that weight in radically different locations, I expect the stability control and...

Pretty sure that's the Traveler, nothing else has a setup like this. I stole this from you, but I'm really hoping I don't get rear-ended with the Harvester. Also, those rear frame rails look really beefy, so hopefully the towing rating has improved.

Hopefully it's the little LEGO set from the SC Training Center!

    The Start/Stop Button

I really think this is the best course. Just call it the Scout button and allow the driver to program it to one of a few dozen available functions, much like programming the button of a mouse to do what you want on a computer. Start/stop can be the default for the ease of new-to-EV drivers.

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Holy crap, AI is a politician!! That explains so much.

I don't remember what map program that was, but Google only has dirt for the plant. Using https://satellite-map.com/ actually shows the main plant, the training center and the pads for the newest buildings.
