  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I've met some teases in my life, but none more so than you! :ROFLMAO:

Help me decide BEV or EREV

"Circular referencing", haha. Thanks, I wanted to say the same thing but couldn't come up with a less vulgar way of saying that.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

That puts your team ahead of a lot of other manufacturers (including Porsche) that fail to account for things like this, off-camber crawling, cornering G-forces, etc in their oil pickup systems.

My brain jogged back to this. IF the Harvester engine is canted rearwards at a 50-degree angle, what happens to it when I'm off-road, climbing a 100% grade (45-degree angle)??? Whether it's running or not, it'll be past horizontal and all the oil will be draining through the engine down to the...

The Story in Pictures of the Early Electric Cars, 1880-1920

We've made so much progress! The Cuyahoga Electric car had a 150 mile range on one charge, kinda like the Harvester... :ROFLMAO:

Man, even the original 1979 version was not user-friendly to work on, I can't imagine the modern EV equivalent. I disassembled and redid one for the kid in full Carolina Panthers livery. To Little Tikes credit, they still carried OEM original parts for the old models. :ROFLMAO:

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

I'm definitely paying attention to this thread. I was originally considering a plug-in hybrid as the next runabout car, but after that Camry rental, and all the complaints my mother has about her Insight, I'll likely just pick up a 1-2 year old EV6 or such.

What Song Will You Play First in Your New Scout?

This is tough. I've got a 2 1/2 hour drive home from the factory, so not too long. I'm going to make a playlist for the whole trip like @cyure but I've got to tailor the music for each part of the trip. So far, I'm just going to blast Move b**tch by Ludacris on repeat when I'm stuck in...

Please don't put the Harvester engine behind/below the rear axle

The free-standing tubs with the air bubbles are pretty nice, like bathing yourself in sparkling water, but I have to agree with @MountainDad on this one, most people don't use their tubs. Ironically, the only time we use ours is exactly as he said, to bathe our dog in the winter. Otherwise...

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

Just rented a Camry hybrid (same basic engine as the RX) for the past several days to run to a job site, and holy crap was I disappointed. I've read plenty of reviews of Toyota/Lexus models in recent years complaining about the engine groaning or moaning and being rough in general and they...

    AI In Scouts 2027

The good news is that the NHTSA still hasn't finalize the rules and there's typically a 2-3 year grace period for the manufacturer to comply, so hopefully early model Scouts don't get this "technology". Sometimes being an early adopter is better!

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

3500HD Chevy Express with a WWII searchlight behind. No idea how, but the '97, '98 &'99 models all pulled the same mpg with the same 6.5L Duramax. Those vans were pretty much empty shells that only pulled 24mpg unladen, but they consistently pulled 30mpg with the trailer back there, pretty...

What do you do for a vehicle's cellular connection though? The vehicles I've had in the past are modular, so I could just install a switch to the power for the RX/TX box, but vehicles seems to be getting more and more integrated, so I don't know if that still applies to newer vehicles. Some...

Scout Concepts are coming home April 18-20, 2026

The whole thing is a bit shiny for me, but give me two hours and I'll knock that shine right off. For paint protection, I prefer a nice layer of dirt instead of the PPFs many people use.

Can you do that with dark bronze wheels? Pretty please?

Rented a car yesterday for a work trip this weekend. Usually their gas charges are a ripoff, but this time, it's only $3.89 a gallon. I will be returning this thing on fumes...
