  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Bench or Bucket Seating Poll

Let's see what people are thinking...

Great question. Seems odd to have the gas door unlock on a screen with mostly lighting on it. I'd expect it to be with a frunk-open button. Also seems odd to have the gas door all the way back there if the gas tank is in front of the axle.

I'm definitely curious to see the pricing difference between the two. Early on, they expected the EREV to be cheaper, but battery prices have been falling and they're much farther into the engineering on the EREV now, so I'm sure they have a better idea where things are falling.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

For the BEV-lovers, I think Scout's approach is one of the smartest I've seen to mass-BEV adoption in the long run. Build a good vehicle that's attractive and functional and the people will follow. Most will buy Harvesters this time, but next time? I suspect many more will move to straight...

    Traveler NEEDS the bench seat

I thought that about the two-row R1S as well, before Rivian cancelled it...

    Traveler NEEDS the bench seat

I'm scared to make a poll in case bench seat numbers are low. I don't want Scout killing my dream!

    Traveler NEEDS the bench seat

Has there ever been a Bucket vs Bench poll on here? I don't recall one.

The only thing I've seen was in the Harvester patent application calling for a "unique oiling system".

Please don't put the Harvester engine behind/below the rear axle

Reading over the patent information was interesting in a few areas. I recognize not all of these will pan out, but I suspect some are engineering goals at least. They actually mentioned diesel as a potential fuel source, so I'm guessing they didn't get the memo from VW. :ROFLMAO: I get it...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

In fairness to the cars, there are less and less people capable of doing the same, so we're approaching parity before long. :ROFLMAO:

I liked that the dealership group was doing it since it allowed for different makes and models. It's one of the few dealership groups that's actually really good on both sales and service. I know I'm not allowed to say that around here, but it is what it is, haha.

Our local dealership group used to have a program where you could swap cars regularly under a single monthly payment. BMW sedan for a month, swap out for a Range Rover for a weekend trip, oh, wife is out of town for a week?, sports car it is. Cool program, reasonably priced, but now gone. It...

If you like the bucktooth look, that's on you... Beyond that, I don't have a problem with the rest of the vehicle. It's like the Rivian headlights to me, they don't do it for me, but the rest of the vehicle looks good. Hmm, actually, the Rivian lights on that iX3 could give a very distinct...

    Harvester Towing

It'd actually be nice if there was a failsafe mode where the drivetrain could accept the juice from the Harvester directly in the event there is a battery issue. Sure, you'd be in turtle mode, but you could at least move the vehicle to safety should something happen.

@SpaceEVDriver - Thanks for these reviews. Your detail and annoyances match mine almost perfectly, so they're invaluable.

That Silo looks so much better in video than photos, really shows the depth of the color. That's second place for me behind a coppery orange/Tahitian.

Design it to last 20 years

My current vehicles are 10, 20 and 41 years old. The 41-year old Toyota is hard to get body/trim parts for, but beyond that, it was built to be repaired/maintained and it's pretty easy to do so. Take the ignition apart, apply some new thermal compound, carry on. Very few sealed assemblies...

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

Reminds me of cell phones. My wife starts freaking out when hers gets below 60% or so while I'm perfectly happy plugging along at 10% knowing I can get another 12 hours out of it if needed.

    BEV Delay

Things were pretty tight for suppliers of anything around that time, so that might've been more about market conditions than usual. With that said, Rivian also had the same issues.
