  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

Technological advancements don't have much to do with people jumping into EVs now that we're getting past the early adopters. LFP, NMC or SS chemistries won't much matter to those that are comfortable with gas and have range anxiety concerns, whether real or imagined. The EREVs will be popular...

A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

I quickly realized XM was a scam when I installed it in a car in the early 2000's. Even to this day, I can't get it outside at home, nor on 50% of my drive to work in any vehicle equipped with it. Stupid trees.

A place to put your physical media CD and DVD player

I'm with Pandora as well, but mostly because it's the only service that still works natively with my 10-year old car. I can do bluetooth streaming, but the audio quality isn't as good. I'm definitely leery of technology in cars because of this.

    A less screen, focused layout

I'll have mud tires, not my concern... :ROFLMAO: I've transferred most all of our DVD/Blu-ray to digital now and all of our audio CDs are digitized, so I'd be happy being able to play those through the main screen. Rivian didn't allow videos on-screen, but if you stored your movies where the...

    A less screen, focused layout

This thread makes me feel young. :ROFLMAO: At most, I'd be okay with an A/V input for plugging in a device to use the main screen. Beyond that, I don't see the expense of the hardware to be worth it for the 2% of people that'd be using it, but an input allows you to plug in a player, hard...

    Torn

Once SSBs hit production, do you anticipate seeing them in EVs or cell phones first? I've always assumed they'd hit cell phones first where the pricing premium for the battery wouldn't be as big of a deal as in EVs.

Rivian Assistant & Unified Intelligence Update

My '02 MINI had a very nice sounding English lady for the navigation. Kinda hot, but also stern.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Maybe I'm reading his personality wrong (it is the internet after all), but I definitely don't see that happening.

Thankfully, I get the feeling that the designers at Scout find these same things equally stupid.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If memory serves, they did something with Levi's for their bicentennial CJ 50 years ago, so it'd be cool if they did something like that again.

Rivian Assistant & Unified Intelligence Update

Any reason they can't just capture the words coming out of my mouth like the AI in the Taco Bell drive-thru?

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Definitely not a fan of the profit-over-everything mentality that's taken over the stock market in recent decades.

Rivian Assistant & Unified Intelligence Update

I really don't like the part about reading all of my texts to get a feel for how I talk/type so that voice texts sound like they're coming from me, without the AI assistant. Call me paranoid, that's okay.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Just got an email from Rivian on their assistant and it looks like sending voice texts is supported, so I have to assume it'll read them as well. If my 10-year old car can, Rivian sure as heck better read them. So, Rivian's software stack can handle this, but I don't know which of Rivian's...

    Bench or Bucket Seating Poll

As a family of three, being able to all sit up front with the rear seats folded down allows for a lot more hauling in the back of the Traveler for some of those bigger Home Depot runs, etc. I assume it'd be tight for a road trip, but without the transmission tunnel in the middle like most ICE...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Good point as I'm usually running with a more mature crowd that doesn't subscribe to the full send philosophy.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

As someone that hits the trails and does some mild rock crawling, etc, I find Rivian to be one of the worst 4-wheel vehicles for the environment from a different perspective. Erosion and runoff is a constant battle in the offroad world, and has caused many offroad parks and private-access areas...

    Bench or Bucket Seating Poll

I haven't seen anything about rear captains chairs either, but figured I'd throw it in to see if anyone was wanting them.

    Bench or Bucket Seating Poll

Uh, just you and your wife? That's one of the biggest draws of a bench seat!! :ROFLMAO: I definitely want the bench, but ultimately, if I can't get it as a heated and ventilated bench, I might go with buckets.

    Traveler NEEDS the bench seat
