  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Usb ports on top of dash

I hadn't noticed that detail before, and with the little cubbies underneath, they appear to be very useful.

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

Makes me feel bad about my 70kWh daily usage in my house... :ROFLMAO:

Usb ports on top of dash

For the upper dash USB-C's, I wouldn't mind seeing something on the rear of the mirror, or at least a 12v power source up there that has enough amperage to power a few devices.

    FB find of the day

At least you can drop the tailgate! I do agree though, the naked mask on both the Terra and Traveler leave something to be desired.

    FB find of the day

B-O-R-I-N-G. We need entertainment for the next 18-24 months! Dance monkey, dance!

    Rear Window

That's the way my Toyota works, but it wouldn't work on the Scout with the spare tire in the way and the rectangular window. In my case, the glass actually has a curve cut out to clear the spare, but that'd look really dumb on a Traveler with a backpack, haha.

Scout Concepts in Blythewood, South Carolina, April 20, 2026

Don't forget the factory looming in the background. Once you're on the grounds, you should test the security to get us our April update on the factory construction. :ROFLMAO:

    Scout delayed??

Reminds me of the first thing we were taught in computer programming a long time ago. "Garbage in, garbage out."

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

It's funny you say that. Reading this thread, I was thinking this would be an easy transition for me coming from all manual-transmission vehicles where I typically rev-match upshifts and downshifts and mostly do engine braking. It's a fun game to me to see if I can time things so that I don't...

    FB find of the day

Bring a tape measure too, but not a metal one lest you get dropped by Agent K. Think a soft tape measure for sewing. Floor height to ground, frunk floor to ground, trunk floor to ground, swing out carrier length, frunk size, trunk size, etc.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Having worked in a Jeep shop and regularly wheeling my Toyota with Jeeps, I love the concept, but the execution is poor. I liked the TJ/LJ, but nothing really newer since they became soft. The old ones were simple, and while not incredibly reliable, they were easy to operate and fix (minus the...

    Scout delayed??

Don't blame AI, this is just as likely being manipulated by VW dealer groups. Don't forget that they're incredibly well-funded and will do anything to protect their own. They'd rather sink an entire new brand than have their syndicate put in jeopardy.

Crap, one of the only times during the week that I couldn't make the sub-3 hour drive. :( I'm sure they'll have more events down there...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'd still like an altimeter. My old MINI had one, and I found it surprisingly useful for managing my efficiency. Some routes seem flat, but they're really just a long incline or decline. I'm sure it was just a GPS altimeter, so not the most accurate, but it aligned well with topo maps and...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'd like a method for removing/mounting the rear-mounted spare tire off the carrier without having to deadlift that 80+ lbs of weight and align the bolt holes. Just did my 5-tire rotation and my current 35" E-rated mud tire and wheel is right at 100lbs. I'm getting too old for that. I just...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I'd love to see lower gearing for offroading, but don't want to pay Porsche money for a 2-speed transmission either.

Learned something new today. With the exquisite eye for detail and color, I assumed CP1 was a woman this whole time!
