  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

It wasn't asked but it was addressed anyway in one of the answers Ryan gave that I had listed

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

I just saw a new interview Ryan Decker did with the GreenCars podcast on YouTube. Below is Gemini's summary of the questions asked and the answers Ryan gave. I want to emphasize they are summaries and not direct quotations of Ryan's responses. Please feel free to give the podcast a listen for...

Scout Concepts in Seattle, Washington, May 9, 2026

Unfortunately not. I couldn't think of a question I didn't already know the answer to in the heat of the moment and choked. In my defense I was star struck by the vehicles as I was just seeing them for the first time when the representative actually approached me to see if I had any questions...

Scout Concepts in Seattle, Washington, May 9, 2026

I share most of the same sentiments of the other attendees there yesterday so I'll try not to be too redundant on what has already been said. I read so many times on this forum that the Scouts were bigger in person than people thought they would be, so my expectations were that I would be...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Scout loves physical buttons and switches. Looks like it is left of the steering wheel instead of in the screen on the prototypes

Anyone RSVP for the event in Seattle on 5/9 and get a response?

I got no response from my RSVP. It's free and open to the general public. RSVPs for this one are encouraged to help them plan for coffee, merch, and the community rolling through.

    Camping with a Traveler/Terra

Something like the Campstream would be nice. It could attach to a designated, active HVAC vent in the Scout with a ducting transition piece that would lead into your tent whether it is on the roof, ground or pickup bed. You could control heating, cooling, and fan speed through your Scout's app...

    The Start/Stop Button

I feel the same about this debate, and I am also curious about if is there an easy way to power everything down in an EV while still sitting in it and also the opposite. Is there an easy way to keep an EV powered on if not sitting in it? Scenarios would include but not be limited to using...

    Seattle Scouts

Seattle area Scouts, RSVP to see the Scout prototypes at the The Shop in SODO on May 9, 2026. Come for the Terra and Traveler, stay for Microsoft's Halo Warthogs and other vehicles in the collection

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

TFL has a video up on YouTube for the Hyundai Boulder. It's definitely just a concept currently

    Traveler Liftgate lighting

Definitely hoping for down facing area lighting under the rear lift gate please. I would like to see this under the frunk hood too. Maybe even slightly adjustable to focus on a specific area you need more light, kind of like an airplane seat reading light.

What would you be willing to pay for a paint color?

I think I could be happy with the standard/no additional cost colors, whatever they may be. After seeing all the Gemini renders and heritage Scout pictures posted on this forum I've determined that as soon as Rallye or other stripe graphics are added to the side, I find there are so many colors...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

InsideEVs posted a follow-up video to this article on YouTube this morning. From their four minute discussion on what they learned from their interview with Uncle Scotty, I had Gemini summarize what they said they got out of it below for those who prefer reading recaps over listening. I do...

    Scout Badges/Patches

I know a lot of people put patches on their headliners for places they have been or things they are interested in and I like the idea of Scout badges in the vein of boy/girl scouts merit badges. Scout could easily come up with merit/demerit badges that commemorate firsts in your own...

January 2026 Scout Production Center Update

It looks like the January Production Center blog post was revised to list 350 miles of range for the all-electric Scouts again. The footnotes were also updated to match the appropriate vehicle types.

Right, kind of like the old FJ Cruiser off-road mirror lights

Ideas for the revamps and the Travelers Sister!

For Travelers optioned with the rear tire carrier, I'd like to see what the potential filler panel would look like on one of the Traveler siblings with the rear tire carrier removed
