  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Rims and Tires

Whether skinny tires are better or not is kind of irrelevant if (almost) nobody makes them. My Scout came with 37x12.50 tires on 17x8.5 wheels. It looks cool (to me, testosterone included) but they’re too big for full articulation and they’re heavy and I don’t like the wheels and the giant...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I gotta say, I really like that front view teaser. Love the no fender flares!

    Audible pedestrian warning noise

I prefer no artificial noise of any kind but if it is a legal requirement, make it as least stupid as possible. If it’s not required, make it a menu option. I’ll let pedestrians take their chances with Darwin.

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

I’d be happy with a “donut” spare in the bottom of a frunk under a panel with storage above. I’d still like to see a factory option for a bumper mount full size spare for the back. I think the Scout II looks great without a spare on the back. I hope there is a good size frunk with the “grill”...

    Rims and Tires

My 2¢, I want 17” wheels (I’d really like 15”) and 8.5” wide. Big rims look stupid on 4x4s - any other opinion is wrong. I’d like to keep the stock wheels, especially if they are retro looking, and be able to put up to 35x12.50 tires on and tire shops don’t like the wheel to be more than 4”...

The EV transition will not be easy or not even successfull.

I think that ship has sailed

    Bed Area

I agree it's an extra step but where else would you put the tire if you want a tailgate (like me)? I don't want to sacrifice interior space and I doubt you could fit a 33" much less a 35" inside. Even a 31" is a pretty big tire. That's what fit inside the Scout II but it took up a chunk of...

    Proportions/Wheelbase

I would like it to be Scout II size up to Traveler size w/4 doors
  9. Bodie

    Bed Area

Absolutely! My 1971 Bronco did this. The spare swung out from the quarter panel. There are also aftermarket bumpers with swing out tire carriers.

    Double sunvisors

I had this on my 2003 SAAB and have missed it on every car since. The first/main sunvisor is normal; it folds down and forward to block sun on the windshield and rotates to the side window to block sun there if necessary. It also slides so it can adjust to where the sun is on the side window...

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

I for one, would like a full size spare on the back. There's nowhere else to put a full size spare (I'd like 33-35" tires). I DO want a tailgate and not a swing gate so it needs to be attached to the quarter panel or preferably, bumper. They sell adapter pieces to extend the receiver to clear...

    What Are You Driving Now?

The S2000 is an awesome car but they're priced as collector cars now (the nice ones). A lot of S2ks were rode hard and/or have stupid modifications so the pool of clean, stock examples is small and expensive. Mine was one of those so I took the money. You can buy a new Miata for what a clean...

    What Are You Driving Now?

Thanks! I’m lucky that my wife gets the practical cars and I get to have more fun ones.

    What Are You Driving Now?

I plug it in every time I come home. I just use 110v at my current house so it takes a while. When I lived in CA, I used 220v which only took ~4.5 hours because electricity was cheapest from midnight to 6 am so the car was set to only charge then. The “cheap” electricity in CA was still 50%...

    What Are You Driving Now?

I’m old enough to have owned many cars/trucks over the last 30+ years. My current DD is a 2014 Cadillac ELR, an under appreciated PHEV that I’ve had since new. I really like the ELR and it has sold me on electric, though I still think with current battery tech and infrastructure, a PHEV makes...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I could live without heated seats and steering wheel but in an EV, those are the most efficient ways to be comfortable. Since there's no engine, it takes a lot more battery to warm the whole cabin than to just warm the seats/steering wheel but those make the most difference. Cooled seats might...

I would argue that every off road SUV is a Scout knock off

    Chrome trim package

I like (love) chrome and polished aluminum, especially as an alternative to black plastic. I’m fine with chromed plastic too if it’s done well. I’ll need to see the final design though before I could say if chrome bits will look good or not.

This article get you thinking about Ev

This article is the daily BS. The people bringing the lawsuit will lose. They haven't been conned, they're just ignorant and that is their fault. I would bet money that I can exceed the EPA range on ANY EV, hybrid or ICE vehicle. I can also drive those same vehicles to NOT meet the EPA range...

    Top has to be white

I thought I would like a white top on the Bronco but the ones I’ve seen don’t look good at all. I think it’s because of all the black plastic pieces where chrome used to be - mirrors, door handles, grill, bumpers, window edges + the big black fender flares. Classic trucks don’t have any black...
