  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

Congratulations on getting your new EV. I just wanted to say "well done" on finishing the level-2 EVSE install in the cold weather. I just finished installing my level-2 EVSE in the cold, but my cold was ~50F. I waited for warmer weather (it snowed yesterday), but even 50F was uncomfortable.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

While I can't provide a link, I'm pretty sure that a Scout rep has confirmed that the bench seats will have a fold down center console.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

The green is aesthetic - it is to match the trim on the porch. The porch rail above the cabinet needs some touch up, but that is true for most of the porch. That is a Spring project.

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

This is a misconception that a lot of people have, but it is not true. Jamie has already confirmed multiple times that the EREV will be gas-and-go - you do not need to charge the battery when on a long trip. You can simply fill up with gas (range of ~350 miles) and continue driving. The...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

I finally finished installing my outdoor 50amp circuit and Level-2 EVSE. I don't have a garage, so I made a cabinet to keep the install looking clean and keep the weather off of the unit.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Welcome! While I doubt the Terra will have the storage in the side rails like the RAM pickups, I think that storage option would be incredible and I would definitely add that option to my Terra it if they offered it. There must be a good reason that other truck companies don't offer this, and I...

What accessories would the supplier park install?

Here are the things I would buy from the supplier park, if they are not offered by Scout: Professionally installed spray bed liner for the Terra Tonneau cover Adjustable towing hitch Rubber floor mats But, I expect the supplier park to sell lots of other things: Truck bed toolboxes Running...

    Two Reservations

Yes. Jamie has said one of the other threads that the choice of BEV or Harvester can be decided at order time. The selection on your reservation is so Scout can get an indication of preferences, not a lock-in of the vehicle you want to order.

Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?

I never caught on to this. I don't know if I would call that a good justification for Die Hard being a Christmas movie, but it's a nice nod to the spirit of the movie. BTW - I do consider Die Hard to be a Christmas movie. It just isn't a Hallmark Christmas movie.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Are you saying you want a bench seat that has a fold down arm-rest, or that you want something in the center of the seats as an arm rest? Scout has already confirmed they have two options for the front seats: (1) captains chairs with a center console and (2) bench seat with fold down center...

Is there anything that would make you switch from the BEV to the EREV?

Same here. After over a year owning and running a BEV I am 100% in the BEV camp and will not go back to gasoline.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Glad you are still full steam ahead with PBY. Yep, I saw the pictures, they look beautiful. I hope they offer this color, but if they don't I'm sure you will find a way to get PBY, I have faith in you!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

There you go being all logical about things. First you give up on the 35-inch tires because of range concerns. Now you bring up logistics of the backpack. Next you are going to abandon PBY. Who are you, and what have you done with the real @cyure? But seriously - I am pretty sure I...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

You need to create a new thread with that in the Suggestion Box: The backpack needs to be sized to fit in the frunk. or The frunk needs to be big enough to store the backpack.

    Financing Options

If you are concerned, you could talk to your bank or credit union about financing. My bank is always trying to get me to borrow money, I'm sure they would be very helpful if you told them you were looking to finance a new vehicle.

    Jeep Recon

Nooooo! Don't back down now @cyure ! Your off-road pavement princess is going to be a thing of beauty. Don't compromise because you are feeling a bit of range anxiety. Go with the 35-inch tires and live the dream! If the range really does become an issue you can down-size to 33-inch street...
