  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

New Scout March 2023 Teaser Image

Interesting details surrounding the back window of the truck. Grab handles, perhaps? Almost looks like the ripples one might find in a vinyl rear window?

    EV focused suggestions

The keypad is well hidden on my Explorer into the pillar of the drivers door, and I use it constantly. You can unlock just the drivers door, all the doors, and lock the vehicle all without needing a key. Not sure why they didn't continue to better integrate them in new Bronco etc... On my...

    Manual Transmission

...And I want to waste it moving a lever and pedals connected to nothing all while making racecar noises because it will bring a smile to my face ?

    Battery pack idea

Knowing that batteries will only continue to improve over time, are there internal discussions to build the new vehicles in such a manner to retrofit battery packs developed 10-12 years from now into the first new generation of Scouts?

    Manual Transmission

Always appreciate the Munro videos. And they said it right at the end "...might be fun to drive." As I said, it doesn't have to be physical gears, but just a realistic simulation of the engagement of driving a stick that I'm after. I'm not interested in an appliance that solely functions in...

    EV focused suggestions

Some Off Road areas such as the Cape Cod National Seashore specifically prohibit "temporary use spare tires". It would be great if the Scout came with 5 wheels and tires of the same size. https://www.nps.gov/caco/planyourvisit/orv-equipment-and-tire-requirements.htm

    Manual Transmission

Since we are allowed to suggest anything, I'd like to suggest a manual transmission. Now I know your saying, "but difficulTT, an electric vehicle doesn't need a transmission at all!" and I get that. but what if Scout did it anyway? The Porsche Taycan and its stablemate the Audi RS e-tron GT...

    Daily Driver Comforts

Along with #9 - Cooled or ventilated seats are pretty darn nice too. Especially on the days you take the top off ;)

    Daily Driver Comforts

Perhaps, but the beauty of the Saab's option was that the screen was completely off. I suppose if everything is controlled through a screen, you can't turn it completely off. One more argument for physical controls IMHO.

    Daily Driver Comforts

Saab's night panel button. Pushing one button dims just about everything except for the speedometer. With the way screens are taking over everything, a simple physical button to turn off all the brightness and unwanted distraction would make night driving so much better.

    Color Wishlist

VW has offered some fun colors in the past. Here is what was available for the 2019 Golf R as an example. The only downside was the $2500 charge for a Spektrum color. Here's to hoping they let the "fun" side of VW really run wild at Scout.

    Idea: Cradle to Delivery

In the past Chevy has offered the option to "build your own engine": https://www.chevycorvette.com/engine-build-experience And it looks like they are bringing it back for 2023: https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2022/09/08/video-kai-spande-announces-lt6-engine-build-experience-coming-in-2023/ So...

    Front Hinged Hood

Lets hope they add a "frunk" at all. The european EVs haven't seemed to really embrace under the hood as a storage area as much as say Ford or Tesla. ID 4 vs Mach E for example:

    Idea: Cradle to Delivery

Many european car companies have a "Euro Delivery" program where you fly out to the factory, take delivery of your car, and spend some time exploring the country. When your done, they take the car back and ship it to your home dealer for delivery...

    Scout Design Ideas

+1 to the convertible concept. Especially for the pickup version! I am quite torn between a Jeep Gladiator now, while a manual transmission is still available, and patiently waiting for a new Scout. A convertible pickup truck with a stick checks all the right daily driver boxes for me...
