  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Naked Scout

Save yourself $50k and get an old CJ5 or CJ7

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

We also own an Ionic 5, and also love it. However, I will tell you if you're looking to do a highway trip, the car range estimate is nowhere near reliable. I believe this to be consistent among EVs based on what I've read. I'm not saying anything new but highway commutes of significant distance...

    Removable Rear Seats

Rear facing third row! Roadmaster style! Jk. There's probably laws.

    Stickers! And other decor...

That's fair. I had an uncle who built a house on San Juan Island in the 1990s and it was a spectacular place. I'll keep the secret if you will...

    Stickers! And other decor...

Any nerds out there saving stickers for their Scout!?! These are my options so far... Going to put them on the left rear glass on my traveler. ?

    December 2024 Production Center Update

Best views I saw were from Blythewood Road... maybe 77 too but I didn't get that perspective on my route. You can get some intermittent views through the trees and down the power line swath from Fulmer but not worth driving over there IMO. See the picture... there is a place on Google Maps that...

    December 2024 Production Center Update

Yep! I took those photos more or less from a two lane road. Best views I saw were from Blythewood Rd just west off of I-77.

    December 2024 Production Center Update

I got this one, Jamie! Stalker alert! Had the chance to drive by today and check the place out from afar. It does exist! Cool to see the Red House in person...

Beautiful previews of Traveler on 37's + winch off-road bumper + roof rack ?

I'm going to set mine up with a Carolina squat and low-pros on 24x10s. Just kidding. I agree with doing what you want with your ride except a Carolina squat. Scout should have sensors installed that detect if that nonsense is going on so it disables the vehicle until you fix it.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

A Mebanite! I used to live there. Also lived in Charlotte and surrounding areas and still have family there so I could absolutely make an excuse for a factory pickup.

    Range and Competitiveness

I have to say I'm not concerned about the range because I'm not intending to tow long distances with a Scout. As has been said a number of times now, there are better tools for that. If towing long distance is a primary use case for your Scout (or any EV) as your only vehicle, I think you're...

Traveler spare tire carrier - other locations?

If I remember right my Dad's 79 Scout had the spare mounted internally, like this. I like that idea... Just would want a way to easily dismount if I needed to pick something up and anticipated using the extra space.

    Brake lights

I feel pretty confident I could design an intuitive brake lighting system that conveyed a braking input both immediately and that also relayed the magnitude/rate of displacement of the input. I bet even the lowest common denominator would require no training or notification of the system and...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

Potential to also charge other EVs in emergency situations

    Brake lights

Wouldn't it be cool if you could tell from the brake light size/intensity/pattern how HARD the person in front of you was braking in their Scout? I feel like this would help people adjust their closure rates earlier and better, particularly in interstate situations...

    Hood Opening

Sure, if people elect to add it as an option, knock yourself out. I just don't want to HAVE to have it. I think your argument is fair. But I'd offer that in the case I don't have both hands full, I could nearly open, insert object, and close the frunk while an auto open system would still be...

    Re-think Headlight Design

I think this is a valid post but I personally like the front. It doesn't strike me as "wanna be retro" (Coming from a guy who rode around in the back of a 79 Scout and owned a 69 Suburban). Maybe they offer another configuration/option that is a different look though, who knows? I think the...

    Under seat cooler

Saw a potential option for a cooler under the center console. Great idea and hope this would still be an option for the bench seat, even if smaller.
